I don't like putting horses up at such ****ty prices but Captiva Island at 2/1 in the 3:20 Worcester looks a cracking bet from a top Irish stable with the excellent J J Codd on board. It could be worth chancing the Elliott double and sticking it on with Buonarotti Boy at 7/2 in the 4:50 at Worcester too.
Two for me as well at Worcester tomorrow. Stealing Mix @ 11/2, 3.50 and Bhakti @ 9/4, 5.50. The former looks very well handicapped based on his half length beating by the 130+ rated Dreamcatching 2 starts ago where he was in receipt of just 3lb. He followed this up with a comfortable win lto where the distant 3rd has since won. The latter ran well on rain softened ground lto at Uttoxeter. With the weather set fair tomorrow he'll get his favoured good ground. Singles and a double. Good luck all.
17:10 Yarmouth - Lunar Deity (Only six runners at time of writing, but still a trappy-looking affair over Yarmouth's straight mile. Selection getting a bit long in the tooth and has not won for a long time, but is on a pretty fair mark here and has a squeak in this weak event. Don't know too much about apprentice rider Milly Naseb, but I'm sure she will not let the old fellow down. Newmarket trainers do well at Yarmouth, and Stuart Williams is probably no exception. He seems particularly successful with his older charges too. Around 3/1 would seem a fair enough price to take?).
Interesting looking race at Kempton tonight 8.10pm It's anyone's guess how much the Stoute trained Parlance may have improve over the winter, having won easily on her final 2yo outing and a virtual C&D winner despite running very green on second outing so would have to be on the short list. Ryan Moore rode her last year but Crowley takes the ride today. Gosden's Illaunmore returns to the scene of her only win and has Dettori on top. Has had all her 3 races this year at Chelmsford. Interesting that last year she left her previous form well behind when kept up with the pace and winning well on her only run at this track. Shenanigans is another returning to Kempton where she had 2 decent runs last year. Ventura Blues also returns to Kempton having shown promise here over 6f last year, looking as though she would be suited by a step up. Needed the race when running out of steam her in April and since ran on well for a place at Leicester. Only raced at 6f and the step up to 7f on this track is a plus. Then we have the very well bred Frankel filly Yaraki with just the one run under her belt last month. Not sure how she will act on the surface. Tribute Act is a C&D winner as a 2yo. Made her handicap/turf début over 1 mile on soft at Newmarket last month and looked full of promise. So difficult to call but if pressed I think I would take the C&D form and the recent promising run of Tribute Act. Prefer to just watch though.
It would appear that the whole of the dreaded ‘Elite Racing Club’ are backing that Tribute Act. Extremely well supported earlier this morn and into as low as 13/8 for what looks, at first glance, a very competitive Fillies Handicap.
If the jockey can get it to settle better then i'd be fancying Ravens Lady to go very close in this, looks like there's already been some money for it but still around 8s and worth a punt
Boo Hoo, all this talk of Kempton...... I was supposed to be at that venue tonight, as I was booked on training this week at Heathrow, but they cancelled it just a few days ago - aaaaaaarrrrrggggh. I was really looking forward to that. To console myself, I'm hoping for a Buick double at Haydock 2.00 Ottonian 3.00 Fire Brigade I also like the chances of Storm Cry in the 4.00 at the same racecourse. Good Luck all.
Good afty all... Don't get to post much nowadays or indeed get info off my mate, who has just sent me through... Merlin @ Haydock, 4/1 Just spreading the love my NOT606ers...
Okay, fresh from the success of the gaffer’s syndicate horse winning twice in three starts, both his other nags are down to run today. I do not think that he will be retiring tomorrow on the winnings from backing them in singles and a double... First up at Worcester in the 3:50, Snow Rescue makes his handicap debut having failed to trouble the judge in any race to date. The horse has had a wind operation since it last ran and is fitted with a tongue tie but despite the gaffer’s optimism it will need a miracle to feature in what looks a competitive field for this level of race. That said, he backed it online at 33/1 last night and it was 10/1 this morning. Before she ever ran last year, Orithia had an entry for Royal Ascot because they thought she was good enough but she never ran until September and she has not yet fulfilled the promise of her last two juvenile races. In the Kempton 7:40 she has bottom weight but is stepping up to a mile and 3 furlongs, which the gaffer does not understand (nor do I!). She has an entry at Lingfield on Saturday over ten furlongs and three entries on Sunday and Monday over a mile in case they need to run her with a penalty! Not sure what the trainer has been snorting... Given that the trainer reckons she needs quick ground, I am not sure why they are bothering on Standard/Slow Polytrack as she has been thrashed on it before and Good to Soft turf. So all in all, I do not think that I will be coming in the office tomorrow morning to ask for a pay rise because boss man may have empty pockets.
Cor blimey, Red, is your mate the owner of this one?!? Now that would be impressive. Next week’s ‘Ascot Stakes’ runners are out and it resembles a 3 mile hurdle line-up. Mssrs Hendo, Nicholls, King, Pipe and Hobbs all with runners. And that man I’ve never heard of has put in Riven Light. He was how do they say unquestionably…fishing, when he made that Goodwood entry a few weeks back for this one.
Brilliant. That’s 3 for the Buick boy (all tipped on here) today with 2 more winnable mounts still to come. I’m sure some bookie chappies are sweating (and not just because of the warm temperatures) over the possibility of that 5 timer coming up.
And I'll double the thanks - well done RED and simonJ for giving me a fab tender double - wish I'd put fire brigade in for an unbelievable treble !!! Let's not be greedy though - this is the site that always gives !! Let's roll in ascot gold cup day !! Cheers boys
