Labour didn't cost their manifesto fully according to the Institute for Fiscal Studies. Even Emily Thornberry said it was £4Bn out; the IFS said £9Bn. Probably never expected it to be put to the test, so promises could be made...
Hubris is a fatal flaw and never has it been so clearly demonstrated, as in this debacle, and more is to come that's the worry, we aint seen nothing yet, problem is we are all going to pay the price of Mays folly and its going to be a lot more than 9Bn.
I am only joking now ( I think ) so you can all laugh now but does anybody think this is all pre planned in advance by the main parties just to keep us happy but in reality there was never a chance of us leaving the EU rght from the beginning.
The people who vote decide nothing. The people who count the votes decide everything. Joseph Stalin. They couldn't not go through with Brexit now, they'd be absolute hell on and it would be the end of democracy in this country. It will be watered down now, for sure. I just wish Nigel Farage was involved. He's the only politician I've ever adored.
I concur 100% ,no wonder students came out to vote with an average £9000 per person to be replaced with free tuition, hell of a carrot to dangle in front of a campaign.
Press turned on her before the results were in mate mate. Just as I predicted. They have no loyalty. They won't politically align until the next election is called. In the mean time they'll sell her down the river every chance they've got. Money is the only thing that maters, slagging her off is a licence to print money for them at the moment. They're taking it.
Would have preferred a Manifesto which promises not to borrow then borrow record amounts? One that U-turns on almost every positive helpful policy like the Tories. You know, cover to cover lies or no detail at all like the Tories recent efforts. The Labour Manifesto is the best costed manifesto for a very very long time. Experts left right and center have praised it. 9billion is **** all in the grand scheme, and would have been pretty easy to find with a bit of adjusting. Not that it matter now. Corbyn talks to Sinn Fien in an effort to lay down arms and he's scum of the earth. The Tories invite DUP in to help run the country and...?
They are all lying in some form, none of the manifesto promises can definitely be implemented. Anyone who says they are is trying to fool us, or we are fooling ourselves. One thing is for sure .... nothing, but nothing, comes free.
The Irish Border is the DUP's big bargaining chip. Their farmers benefit from the EU farming subsidies and a soft Brexit to ensure those are protected is on the cards now. I just don't know why she does not resign as Cameron did when he lost the referendum. She seemed more bothered about those Tories that lost their seats rather than the country as a whole. I am now hearing that the EU are willing to delay the talks.
Oh definitely. Said a before the votes were coming in, they're still politicians, there's no such thing as the perfect government what's more even a government with the very best intentions are going to **** up on the way. Countries rarely work for everybody. This one ain't going to work for me. Straight into bed with Terroists sympathizers, who oppose women and gay rights. Shameful. A lot lot worse than talking to terroists in a quest for peace. Tories are going to left them help run our country. Imagine if Corbyn went to them. I know what you'd say given your comments on this thread. Surprised you haven't been more out spoken, you made your point about mixing this those lot very very clear when it was aimed at Labour.
Just watched the Labour candidate's winning speech from Kensington, of all places. Twenty vote margin.
Dont see why the tories shouldn't work with a democratically elected political party in the quest for stability. I'm sure corbyn would leap at his pals in Sinn Fein if they offered to support him and I would have no problem with that. Peace takes two sides to create and the DUP have worked with Sinn Fein to do so in NI. At some stage we all must move on.
The problem we now have is the choice between May, who is now a busted flush, leading a Conservative/DUP coalition versus a Corbyn-led Labour/SNP/LibDem/DUP/Sinn Fein/Plaid Cymru/Green coalition. The latter dependent on JC's old IRA chums actually turning up at Westminster, which they won't. The Conservatives, who ran the ****tiest campaign for a long time, still got 56 seats more than Labour and are only 8 short of a majority. Jezza, who ran a surprisingly good campaign which even managed to get da yoof onside still lost by a country mile. We now have a government involving the DUP, who make the UKIP shower (bye bye Mr Nuttall ) look like Bri and RAW!
Not now they don't. But everything just changed in the last 24 hours and I've just made a £50 bet that they'll vote in parliament before Brexit is signed.
