Not bothered about Davies, he's made a fair few errors the last few seasons. Dawson was always the better defender I feel, his injuries however seem endless now and I don't know if we can depend on him next season. Clucas only signed a new contract around the start of last season. If he goes it just shows how meaningless contracts are now.
I remember taking some Egyptians out at Cave Castle, and they didn't drink, so we thought best to appear were weren't. We got pitchers of orange juice, laced it with Vodka and had a great night. He might have done the same.
I used to do something similar for boring mid-afternoon management meetings...washed out a used milk carton and filled it up with beer. It was a logical nightmare finding a seat at the table with no-one sitting in adjacent seats. It was a lot easier in the old days when we could smoke in the meeting rooms - fumes disguising fumes so to speak.
Anyone recall Sergei Baltacha.. Played for Russia, and Ipswich Town, daughter was Elena who sadly passed away far too early..
I disagree, when we bought him he was a bit of an underwhelming signing from memory. His career was on a bit of a downward trend, he was part of the Birmingham defence that we put 5 past and looked awful. Since he came to us his reputation has increased and then decreased again but I'd say he's still better on the whole than when we bought him.
Wish him well, but i cant remember another CB who has played for city, and who has been subbed, not once but twice at half time in a season, but on his day a very good player, remember watching him playing for WBA against city year's ago and at the time i thought i was watching a future England CB,its a shame in a way he did not fulfill his potential, but good luck to him and his family.
I remember when he played for Luton. He looked class, he's been great for us and a real ambassador, but his best days are behind him him. No coincidence successive managers have dropped him once we had different options in the PL. I think Derby fans believe they've signed a better player than the Curtis we know, he'll do ok, but they won't win the league with him in defence.
I agree he's dropped off and isn't a good fit for the PL, but let's not forget how solid our defence was with him and Dawson at this level only two seasons ago.
He still had some really bad days at the office. With the squad we had, we should really have been winning the title.
Midfield let us down a lot. With a 20+ goal striker, and a strong defence, we really should have walked it.
Teams like ours would never be able to afford a 20 goal a season striker in the EPL. Unfortunately that would be a pipe dream.
