Who cares if Becchio's back in two weeks time? How on earth is that relevant to tomorrows game? I doubt Grayson will start with Keogh, he'll want to assess his fitness levels first so will probably come on midway during the second half for Paynter. Besides even if Keogh does start Paynter will be on the bench and will probably come on at some point. It makes no sense not to have a striker on the bench.

Right, You don't have plenty of attacking QUALITY at all. None of the fore mentioned players are any better than the players that you lost during the summer, no matter how much you try to deny it, they played a lot more games than the likes of Nunez, Sam, McCormack etc, because they were better than them and kept them out of the side. You have plenty of attacking OPTIONS, probably more than we do, but we don't have any injuries or suspensions so it's not really a problem for us as it is for you.

Just because we had parachute payments didn't mean we spent much of it. They were mostly used to restructure our debts to other clubs and help to maintain the running of the club as we had an astronomical wage budget that was eating up the vast majority of our finances. In fact I'd guess and say that our payments are still being used to pay off debts to other clubs and to run the club as we still have a high wage bill. Also we haven't actually spent that much money since we got relegated (around £5 million at a guess). The way we've managed our payments has kept the club from going into going into liquidation/administration and has prevented any points deduction so I'm glad that our club knows how to manage them properly.

Oh yeah, because Leeds have never dropped down divisions have they? It's not like until last season they hadn't been playing in league one is it? It's not like your "massive" club don't struggle to pull in a large crowd and never fill the stadium right? You really are a delusional clown if you think that there's a massive gulf in quality between us because there isn't. You always act as though you're this huge club who should be challenging for european titles instead of facing reality and seeing that you're in fact a mid table team with a very small squad. We're not that much better than you but the injuries and suspensions will play their part tomorrow and you can expect a Hull City victory.

It was based on Saints game mainly, a few times he closed players down as they were passing the ball on and he left them in a heap as the ball (and the TV camera) moved away so he kept getting away with it but it wasn't even tackling as such.

Brown is notorious for being dirty, but I've hardly noticed him so far (ask me again tomorrow night ;))

You're the one implying there's a massive gulf in quality you moron, do you not read what you type before you send it or don't they teach you how to read in Hull?

As for the players we have coming in for replacements being "kept out of the team", Nunez and White are up and coming talents who are showing their quality and hunger and are really fighting for their places. Nunez will play a massive part for us this season. Didn't know fringe players could play massive parts <laugh>.

Lloyd Sam didn't really get kept out of the team. He was playing fantastically well and was holding onto his place (deservedly) last season until he got injured. But there you go again, thinking you know more about my team than me, when I watch them at every opportunity (funds/television allowing) and follow them however I can otherwise religiously.

At least I don't pretend to know anything about your team, except for that you're much crapper than you think you are, if you were that much better than us you'd be auto contenders.

Trust me when I say that Nunez is the Gradel of our central midfield, and he's going to cause your defense all sorts of problems. Assuming Snodgrass and Sam don't finish them off that is. And Clayton is a talent, a real talent. He really does combine the good points about Kilkenny and Johnson with none of the ****ty bad points. A real class act. A much better central midfielder than either of them.

But wait, he can't possibly be good because we didn't spend £4 million on him or even sign him his summer. He was already on the books because we got him from Man City last season. As a project for the future. One that is looking like it's going to pay off.

I expect nothing less than a point, because you're mid-tablier than we are.

Ask grayson why he has left grella just watching from the stands although he is fit and not suspended and we had a spare spot on the bench against bradford, paynter wont be on the bench even if he is fit enough especially now theres only 5 subs.

Grayson will start with keogh upfront and have mccormack on the bench, you say that we have no attacking quality or limited attacking quality but lets be fair and say that gradel, howson, snoddy and becchio are all quality. Thats not including nunez and sam

If you looked at my prediction on the first page you'll see that I had us down for a 1-0 win because the teams aren't too far apart. I just went in a benny when I saw a comment about how good you think you are and how crap you think we are.

mid-tablier is perhaps the most fun and entertaining word I've read all day. Thank you :).

I'm afraid to say that Grella has pissed on his chips mate. The way he behaved while on loan at Swindon and his attitude towards loan offers from other League 2 clubs has ruined his Leeds career for him. He won't play first team for us again, or if he does it'll be when we're really desperate. His attitude is totally wrong and we can't get him off the books (despite transfer listing him) so we're stuck with him. Keep him in the reserves so he keeps his fitness and get rid at the first opportunity is the plan.

I'm sick of every bastard underestimating our chances. We've had a poor start to the season due to a bit of unrest at the club, uncertainty about the best back 4 and frustration on Graysons part due to inability to go out and sign who he wants. That does not mean we aren't still overflowing with attacking talent, just like we were last season. We had the best attack in the league last season for most of the season and were only overtaken by Norwich because Snodgrass and Gradel were knackered with Watt and Sam injured.

Paynter is the exception, not the rule. Even McCormack is very talented, it's just a shame he has the mental strength of an orphaned rape victim with bi-polar disorder.

Say what you like about Nunez, but young players with potential like that need sending out on loan to get game time and experience because with how well Howson was doing he was never going to get into the team. It is also entirely possible that at the time of the loan, Grayson wasn't aware Nunez was so flexible when it came to position. All things that weren't a priority for working out when we'd signed a potential young talent from South America that noone had heard of. Clayton was similar, young talent who hadn't had enough gametime to be worth a risk.

Now they are both ready to fit in the first team and they are doing brilliantly and will only get better, so expect amazing things.

It's true. At least while he's here he should be given opportunities to make amends. But I guess after refusing so many opportunities to go out and get experience, Grayson probably got sick of him.

To the Leeds fans, very few city fans who've posted on here expect an easy game this evening. Christ, i even started the thread by saying i thought it would probably be a close game with us shading it! Despite your poor start hardly anyone realistically expects to turn up tonight and put 4 past you or something. Elland Road is always a tough place to go and i can't see you wanting to start the league season with 3 straight defeats so i expect you'll be up for this game. However, we have a much better team than the one that played at Elland Road last year and i certainly wouldn't class us as inferior to yourselves (even putting club bias aside). The 2 games last year showed that overall there isn't much between us, it's gonna be a case of who wants it more on the day or maybe that little bit of class from someone. As much as you harp on about Nunez etc, we have the likes of Brady, Fryatt, Koren etc who on their day cause problems for anyone in this division and are attacking players that most sides in this division would be happy to have.

Our team @ Elland Road last year:

    Duke
    Dawson
    Ayala
    Gerrard
    Rosenior
    Ashbee
    Zayatte
    Kilbane
    Bostock
    Harper
    Garcia

Think we may have improved a little eh!!!!!

Totally agree with every word Happy as Larry (8.20). No matter how much bravado comes out of Elland Rd you're not telling me that they won't miss Howson, Gradel, Becchio and Somma, who between them scored more goals than all of City managed last season! As you rightly say, we're a much more potent side this season and can't see Leeds scoring tonight no matter how much they'll 'be up for it'.

It's quite amazing that there's only one player left from that team who'll play tonight, it's a timely reminder of just how much better the current squad is.

The highest serious Leeds prediction was mine, a 2-0 win. A couple of Hull fans have predicted 3/4-0 and it's not the first time I've seen that^ sort of thing on the thread either. Howson, Gradel and Becchio will be missed but we still have Nunez, Sam, Snodgrass and McCormack (who has a better Championship games/goals ratio than your beloved Matty Fryatt).

As a general point, Schmeichel, Johnson and Kilkenny were not "key" players, they got into the side because we had no better, now we do. Schmeichel only performs well on TV, Johnson is mid-table NPC at best and Kilkenny is currently warming the bench for Bristol City.

Interesting that about the starting line up for City. I reckon we have improved from last year, the team just needs to recognise it's potential.

Here's the kiss of death though- 1-0 City.

I wouldnt say you squad is considerably better though, i reckon its a little bit better but then people keep saying leeds have a worse squad than last season and i dont get why, we have a better first team without a doubt but we will miss howson for this game massively.
