Something else that I find rather strange is that thousands ( 14,000 and 32,0000 ) took to the streets of London in February to protest about Trump. This happened not once but twice to moan about a bloke who isn't even our leader. Since then we've had three terror attacks with 35 murdered and countless more injured but there's no outrage let alone a protest march that the government or the two weasel mayors of London and Manchester who wheel out the usual old platitudes ... ''Nothing to do with islam, we will not let them win, they will not divide us, our strength is our togetherness, London is one of, if not the safest cities in the world'' blah blah de bloody blah.

As for the safest city quote, why did none of the journalists question him on that? Japan, Hungary, Poland and the Czech Republic don't have any of this **** because they won't entertain Islam and won't allow it in. The net result is that those four countries have had zero islamic terror attacks.

Not to distract from your post but Applebees is not a restaurant but a major chain American hamburger place. We had one around here but it closed due to lack of interest. :)

One of the reasons Trump got in is that Obama consistently misunderstood how frightened many Americans are by terrorism. He downplayed the domestic risks, which are statistically tiny (especially with so much 'ordinary' gun crime about), and just said it's not a real threat within the US (he actually said you have a higher chance of being killed by a falling object than an Islamic terrorist in the US. Which may be true but tragically misses the point). Trump came along and both recognised and played on the fears. I have had many messages from my colleagues in the US asking how things are, isn't it all horrific. I've replied that it's very tense and people have had enough, but reminded them that more than twice as many people have been murdered in the medium size city where they live than have died in the UK from terrorism this year. But most murders are within families or criminal groups, the sheer randomness of terrorism makes it qualitatively different.

I have had a curry in Kobe, Japan cooked by Muslims though.

Plainly it is to do with Islam, and I'd be all for banning it, but I just don't see how that could work. Getting rid of all faith schools would be a pretty good start though.

It would work like this: If you want to remain in the Islamic Faith then you must move to an Islamic Country. The worship of Islam is now banned in this Country and against the law. I know this isn't fair and won't happen, but it COULD be done.

Agree that all Faith schools should be done away with.

Or how about making it illegal to cast a religion on a child. If they want to take it up as an adult they can do so from the age of 18. They say kids are like sponges and absorb so much information more so than do as an adult. Imagine what this does to them especially the aforementioned religion of peace. Has anyone seen this video? Scary stuff and they teach this to kids.

I'm not saying that I agree with or condone it, but how long will it be before the public start acting against the muslim community if things don't change?

Fear and anger are a dangerous combination.

I really am coming round to the idea that we should ban all worship of Islam in this Country.

How many 8 year olds filled with holes do we need to endure before you'll stop worrying about giving more powers to tackle these nut jobs?

I don't condone it either, but it is very likely to happen, unless people are happy with whatever measure, whichever Government take.

As someone previously mentioned, if even the sensible thinker types are growing increasingly impatient with the lack of action, then the hurt first, worry later population must be close to kicking off.

What a ****ty world we've created for ourselves.

All faith schools and all religious instruction in any setting for under 16s banned. So no nipping along to the mosque or Sunday school for your dose of indoctrination. Law against parents indoctrinating their children. Comparative religious studies, as an academic subject, fine. No religious services of any kind in schools (no hymns in assembly). Illegal to Home school your kids, they have to attend a recognised state or independent school. Instant sack for any teacher who talks about their 'faith'. Compulsory logic and rationality lessons (teach the little ****ers to think for themselves). Get rid of Church of England as the official state worshipping of god brand, fully secular state please. No wearing of any religious symbols or dress in public. Sermons in mosques to be pre vetted. Tax on religious organisations to pay for any police protection required. Tax on any donations to religious organisations. Explicit oath of loyalty to British law above God of any colour for all residents of UK. Cash rewards for anyone renouncing their religion in public (mass televised live apostasy would be brilliant 'I have seen the light! I no longer believe in fairies!'). Ban slaughter of animals by techniques required by religion.

Pick the ones I'm serious about. I'm certainly deeply concerned about my tax money subsidising faith schools, whatever the faith. Sadly, the only long term answers are (good) education, alleviation of poverty, equality of opportunity and empowerment of women.

    Just for reference:-

    Ethnic cleansing
is the systematic forced removal of ethnic or religious groups from a given territory by a more powerful ethnic group, with the intent of making it ethnically homogeneous.

I have no problem with a tougher line on extremism but that needs to be across the board - radicals, white supremacists, extreme right and left.

I'd have no problem loosening the criteria on what constitutes hate speech to make it easier to convict. I'd be happy with longer sentences and reduced ability to communicate from prison (ie censorship of outbound messages).

I would actively support the banning of faith schools (although think a mixed curriculum of religious education of all faiths is a positive thing).

I think there should be some control over housing (who lives where) to diversify communities.

Expelling an entire religion, a single religion would sicken me to my core.

The sooner we free ourselves from the stranglehold of the European human rights law the better.

Are you saying that me finding the idea of displacing millions of people as repulsive is morally wrong?

Sorry hoops far more complex than that ....a significant minority of these terrorists are British.
Most have every right to be here ...on the whole our " murdering bastards" are home grown.

Like Stan I do not have answers...I wish I did...I just feel that lashing out is playing into their hands... . But I do not know what else can be done.
