Davies to Derby would just leave Daws assuming Maguire goes. Sad to see him go, he's talented but been a victim of better players being in front of him this season. On the plus side, at least the £10m will be reinvested in the playing staff...
He's been abysmal the few times he played. He's never achieved his potential anywhere he's been. Glad to see the back of him.
Silva dropped him after his gaffe against West Ham when Carroll scored. After that he only played him when other defensive options were not available. If he goes it'll be a shame but that's all.
I think not playing affected him in terms of confidence and being up to speed - playing time. Always tried his best I thought, but we need to establish a new centre guard, or bring someone in and let Daws school him. Good luck Curtis...
I do tend to agree we need fresh blood in the centre of defence. I think the sands of time have caught up with Davies and also dare I say it Dawson too. Derby are obviously planning for another campaign or two in the Championship.
What, ever or just this season? He made a mistake against West Ham and he looked ropey when Silva called on him, but he's overall been more than value for the money we paid for him over 4 years. He's also been a model pro and an excellent captain, not to mention a role model for the younger players. I'll be sad to see him leave if he is off, but I think he needs a fresh start as he looked very off the boil the last few times I've seen him.
Meant to say recently. For the abysmal. Hardly the model pro. Had a great first season and then instantly agitated for more money. Had a shocking second season and cost us pl survival he was that bad. Came back and had a good championship season. Started well season just gone but was ****e in the last few months. Pissed off MON at villa with his attitude. A what could have been player really. Brucey resurrected his career and he was a **** for the money. And if I recall I was saying what a great signing he was going to be when Brucey signed him. And the consensus on here was we didn't need him as Hobbs was better.
Agreed. Davies has been a truly excellent signing, player and ambassador for us but time has caught up and one of them needs to go, while we need one to stay for the dressing room as much as anything.
With all the speculation surrounding the incoming potential new manager and his relationship with Abramovic got me thinking about how many loans from one club can a Football League Club take .. I believe it's different to the Premier League but not sure on the limits
We got 2 from Arsenal last time, I think it's the max from 1 team. Although I'm sure there'll be an argument break out about there is a possibility of loaning....
Mirror reporting that Derby have triggered a 500k release clause following relegation and CD has been at Pride Park today finalising the 3 year deal.. Apologies if this is duplicated..
You can have two players from one club on long term loans and up to eight loan players overall. Foreign loans don't count.
I was replying to the post about from 1 team, so you can have 8 overall from 1 team? Or just 8 overall?
Lets see how serious ehab is now and see who we get in to replace davies Marc roberts and or harlee dean please
Ok time on my hands found this on Sunderland forum posted recently as they too are anticipating plenty of loans .. this may apply to us Under the new rules, Football League clubs will still be prohibited from selecting more than five loan players in their 18-man match-day squad. They will also be prevented from borrowing more than four players a season from any one club, and no more than two over the age of 23. And there is a specific provision regarding goalkeepers, with teams able to sign one at any time if they do not have a fit registered keeper who has made five senior appearances for any club.
