Womans' Hour is the new Paxman. First Jeremy Corbyn's car crash, then Mrs May pulled out, now Diane Abbot pulls out. Sorts out the sheep from the goats, does Womans Hour.
So she pulled out? Or was it that they pulled her due to her performance yesterday (and since the 80's tbf)?
"Taken ill" is the official line. Not the first time she's been "taken ill" at convenient moments. A perfect example of what can happen when an MP has a safe seat.
Anyone wanna come running through the wheat fields? Story of success for May there. Going from pissing off farmers as a kid to millions. Progress.
To be fsir, and not wishing to detract from Diane's scintillating display, but apparently BoJo returned the favour in an interview anout returning Jihadists anout which it seems he knew little or nothing. Imagine a coalition with those two calling the shots.
Yep - not sure why the tories are celebrating the deplorable Abbott so passionately. Have they forgotton about Bojo? Actually, chuck May in for that matter too. Wheat fields... **** sake.
I think Abbott is an idiot, but there is a difference between getting numbers wrong in an interview and cutting police numbers despite being advised not to. Which has lead to the recent attacks.
I'm not sure it's done them any good. Labour were never going to win anyway, and they appear to have narrowed the gap, although we'll find out on Friday if the opinion polls are accurate. Mrs Me has been exposed as weak and wobbly all by herself. Sir Lynton Crosbie's negative campaigning style backfired in the London Mayoral election, with his attempts to smear Sadiq Khan as a terrorist, and if the Mrs Me party don't get a very large majority indeed it will have backfired again.
Fair comment - but my frustration stems from if we had a capable shadow Home Secretary then we could have capitalised on the poor campaign from the Tories. Instead both sides have done one step forward, two back.
Sure - but I don't think anyone could foresee how poorly the Tories would campaign. I can only see this as a huge opportunity wasted, and Abbott bares a lot of the brunt in my eyes.
Agreed. But losing Scotland is another major factor, and that happened already. We'll do well in London, but for Labour to win the next election we need a leader who will have a broader appeal, and my vote will go to Dan Jarvis. Mind you, if Corbyn won't budge we're in limbo.
Whilst May wants to scrap human rights. Let's see what today brings - imagine we'll see s dirty tactic or two.
Recent terrorist acts are a great excuse to get rid of the human rights act, and moronic daily mail readers will lap it up. She should look closer to home as to what the real solutions are.
The fall out from her speech from both sides has been one of the most frustrating reads - but the London Bridge events have no baring on this decision from May. As you say, it's just become a great excuse. BBC breakfast just covered the front pages.. .
