The club hold all the cards as long as VVD does not kick off lallana esk. It's ok Liverpool agreeing to pay £200 k per week, but they've still got the minor issue of sorting a price with Southampton who still retain a 5 year contract on the player. Yes he will go, but I trust the club to stick to their value of £60 million plus?
Nah its okay guys, Ralph and Les have told us we don't need to sell anymore. They wouldnt lie. Meltdown over.
I would expect the lion's share of that to be going straight into Kat's pocket if the sale of the club happens. I can't see us ever spending even half that kind of money on the squad. Although I may of course be very wrong!
Nothing a joke about it. They bid the highest fee so it was accepted. Seriously as soon as some of you accept players aren't going to be here long the better. We are a stepping stone club and as soon as some accept this they will feel better and get far less upset/annoyed etc
Which just begs the question, why believe them? The naivety of some people over the past few months have rather astounded me. I agree though it would be better if they didn't say anything.
For me this isn't about Van Dijk leaving in general. Had he gone to Chelsea, Man City, Man United then I would hold my hands up and said "let's move on, use the money well and accept it". But no. It's ****ing Liverpool. It's the same story every summer and will be the same story in future ones. We are single handedly funding their title charge. What makes it more painful is that he is so much better than them. So much better. Six players in three years is quite frankly disgraceful.
Why? Because a player who was clearly always going to leave this summer, is rumoured to have decided that they want to leave? This whole story is a total nothing to me. It's like someone reporting that today is Monday.
I sense the need for a strongly worded letter, docusigned by as many saints fans as possible, threatening a boycott if one more player goes to Liverpool.
It's simply they bid the most, nothing more nothing less. Are we meant to accept a lesser fee just so a player doesn't go to Liverpool?
No, I derive some weird pleasure from seeing our fans meltdown. Especially the ****y ones who think we are a lot better than we are
Not for me hence why I've stopped going this season. Went to Milan, Wembley and a few more, but generally just stream everything now. For me football has always been about the romance and getting attached to heroes. It's okay, I've accepted it for what it is. Maybe new owners will mix things back up
It gets tiresome seeing us selling our best players to the same club, year in, year out. Les Reed must be a Liverpool fan.
