Cracksman was closest to a pace that collapsed allowing a near non trier to get up in the last 50 yards. To me, Epsom isnt his track, not just the camber in the straight, its not a conventional racecourse and some horses just dont go round there. I dont expect the winner to win another race and the runner up was better placed to benefit from the run of the race, I also think Cracksman is open to more improvement than both of them.
He got a love tow into the race from where he was rather than doing anything himself. He was left in front at the bottom of the hill and was picked up veey easily by better horses. I just don't buy into the track being the issue. He was outpaced coming down to tattnum corner where there isn't any camber it's just dowmhill. He's trained at Newmarket if he can't handle running downhill at this stage there is something seriously wrong.
Look what happened to Beefys fancy Venice Beach, was handy and ended up finishing 12th behind Glencadam Glory The winner and runner up definitely advantaged by being held up way off the pace.
Think people might be be overly dismissing the winner due to his starting price but actually consider the facts on what he's done. For a start he's beaten the right horses, the fav, 2nd fav and 3rd fav all filled the places behind him. He's had an awful passage and still absolutely flew home to nail them all close home. He's well on top at the finish, pulling right away from them at the line, you could easily argue the winning margin devalues his performance. I'd reserve judgement on him being a 'bad' winner for a while myself. If he was a Frankel perhaps he'd be a wonderhorse....
Either the pace completely collapsed, or Wings Of Eagles is a wonder horse and no one in Ballydoyle knew. The latter seems unlikely. The ground he made up late screams that the horses in front were going backwards. Ill give you 2/1 for Wings Of Eagles to win another race in his career.
If cracksman was hanging down the straight I would buy into what you are saying but he has run dead straight and just wasn't quick enogh
as long as your one proper bet won you wouldnt be bothered tho, make sure the other bets are small antepost at massive odds
Both CRACKSMAN and EMINENT are set to head to the Irish Derby according to connections. Gosden felt Crackman lacked experience with Frankie reporting he was babyish at times and needed jostling along. Martyn Meade felt Eminent didn't really handle the track but began to pick up when balanced. He was squeezed for room in the final furlong but they're happy he got the trip.
What are you talking about, Rainer? Didn't know Buckingham Palace had a 'Sainsbury's end'. Ohhh, that Palace, the south London nobs. Say, would you like to try that former manager of yours again? Maybe I could arrange something. No? Well, it was worth a try. Did you know the football news down here is that Munich 1860 are bankrupt, current owner absconded with all available funds, so I understand, and this once proud club looks destined for the 4th Division as amateurs! Big city like this, and all we're left with is Bayern. Well, beggars can't be choosers, I guess. Looks like the dukes of Loftus Road are going to end up with their original starting name of St. Jude's and land up in the 2nd division of the John Deere Farm Tractor League?
