Where have you read this? Top tip for transfer season: if there isn't a direct quote from the player, manager or agent then ignore it. There are so many web sites and media outlets trying to fill empty pages these days that there is just a constant stream of mis-information over who is coming and going. I'd trust the local press a bit more because they tend to have sources closer to the club but I still wouldn't trust them much.
If we had an option to buy then I would go for him but if not, as I have said earlier, I would much prefer someone of the standing of Batshuayi, ie someone who has actually played in the PL and scored goals and will be an almost certain threat up front.
I think we are in danger of over estimating our pulling power. Personally I could not see the likes of Batshuyi choosing us over the likes Everton, West Ham, etc.
Sadly this is correct, as of right now. Benitez will be well aware of the importance of this window. If we can convince one decent player it can lead to more fancying it. I presume that's why we're talking about Reina, a name to inspire others. It's wishful but I'd like us to find some talent of tomorrow for ourselves. I think it's doing us no favours casting envious glances at Abraham, Batshuayi, King, etc. We're a top 20 global outfit and should be able to find talent ahead of their time.
Apparently he sees Brighton as a better option, more guarantee of playing time and closer to his family. I would like Kelechi Iheanacho (if available) he's a proven Premier League performer young and has the potential to become a complete forward.
In fairness common sense would suggest more playing time at Newcastle, he wouldn't start the season as our first choice but he might with them. Mind are Brighton really going to just be getting Abraham and no one else in strike? Doubt it
