It was Gordon Brown who weakened regulation of British banks around the time he announced he had abolished "Boom and Bust"! After the crisis he encouraged Lloyds to buy Halifax and co. Labour and financial management summed up in one word, Clueless.

Without Gordon Browns rescue package for our banking system the country would be totally in the **** now. They have been widely regarded as a stroke of brilliance.

Labour save the the UK banks and the Democrats has to do the same in the US. Get back on Google and do a bit more research.

If he hadn't been asleep on the watch British Banks would not have needed saving.

Giving the banks so much freedom was for most of the time seen as great for the British economy. The global crash learned us lessons.

The GLOBAL banking crisis started in US and the world suffered because of inter-connection. Look up sub-prime mortgages when next in Google.

I just googled it. I don't know how to put the link on here but it came under the heading of Gordon Brown's pensions raid. Mentioned the words grab and crippling final pensions. A good read!

Was it from the Sun or the Mail? The fact is that our pensions are still intact..

Labour has generally been anti nuclear since WW2 but were forced to have an independent nuclear option to avoid being reliant on the US. In the world of MAD (Mutually Aided Destruction) that followed from 1950 we needed to have one just in case Russia attacked us. The thinking was let US and USSR sling missiles at one another but if we got one then we would hit back. It's outdated thinking now and I had a quiet chuckle to myself when the audience quoted North Korea and Iran as nuclear threats. The SALT (Strategic Arms Limitation) began as far back as the 1960s when they saw the futility of nuclear war.

All part of the US global strategy on containing Communism.

Otherwise known as the Torygraph.. They are a Tory supporting newspaper and therefore not a reliable source of evidence.

The Mirror is the only paper supporting Labour as the vast majority of our British press is Tory to the bone..

One could say that there is a reason most of the media is right wing though? Everybody is wrong then apart from the daily mirror?

The reason most of the media is right wing is because they are owned by the extremely wealthy who benefit under Tory rule at the expense of the many..

Most of the electorate in this country leans to the right. That's why a left wing party with a left wing manifesto very rarely wins a general election.

I would put that down to the influence of the mass media who programme minds into believing what benefits them is best for all of us..
