I agree. I admire Tommy's workrate but lets be honest, he just isn't good enough top start every game in the Prem. Buzsaky is a far more accomplished player and should be playing (imo).

Only problem is, how do we accomodate Buz and Tarbs in the same side? Hmmmmm...

I was joking man. That's exactly what you said to me when I was slating one of our players.

Oh well, it was obviously obvious only to me!

Hey Swords weren't you just saying 'Nevertheless, respect MUST go out to the boys that get down there week in, week out and see the game in the flesh. There are no substitutes for that.'

I think your saying you respect Ranger100 based on his attendance, which is a little different to saying 'shut the **** up you tit'.

Ranger100 - what happened to - they can stick their season ticket up their arse at that price??? I seem to remember you being a little bit upset before and weren't gonna go to the games anymore, did you win the lottery?

Football is more than running the 100 m dash like Usain Bolt or dazzle people with tricks like David Copperfield. Tommy Smith is a clever player that brings more to the team than meets the eye. Simple.

Buszaky and smith don't have the same role in the side, it's not a matter of deciding who's better.
Tommy is a wingman and buz plays in that "hole" behind the front 2.
I know we've tried him on the wing before but he's stated that's not his preferred position.

    Yup, not a clue : [

Lets get this straight... I like Tommy Smith, he's defo worth a squad place, I just dont think he's good enough to start for us in the Prem.... I could be wrong of course.

I'd play Buz alongside Tarb interchanging from wide into the middle a lot like AT did with Routs last season.... Really think we gotta give Akos a chance, he looks so sharp.

Alternately, Ali looked off the pace sats, Buz in centre with Derry?

Tommy helps out the full backs. I don't see any of the others offering that. Definitely need him against the better teams, and from Saturday’s result, that will be all of them.

I would like to see more of Buszaky though. I thought his interplay with Campbell and Bothroyd was very promising. He kept the ball moving rather than killing play like Taarabt did on many occasions.

I don't think buz is an out and out central midfielder, he's not combatitive enough, derry and him would be a disaster imo (dropping Faurlin at all would be a disaster).
It's hard, if we're playing 4231, i'd almost fancy giving Taraabt a crack at being the lone front man.. If he's further up the field his lapses of posession might not be so costly?
I'm suspicious that in the prem all our interchanging might lead to a loss of shape, i really think we need something fixed in the middle. Keep the interchanging to out wide and up front? Stick buszaky permamently in the hole. Swap Jay and tarbs from up front to more out wide occasionally.
That said, Jay is our most effective target man, and he won a lot of headers saturday, so we might not be utilising effectively if he has to do any switching?
Plus i like the prospect of him being a target man and dj using his pace to "pick up the pieces" and get on to flick ons, if he's positioned just behind.
So basically i have no idea.
I wonder whether NW will change the defence at all for everton? Assuming dyers foot keeps him out and gorkks is on his way, we only really have connolly + ****tu as options..

edit: plus we lose the benefit of Taraabts crosses if he's up front. So maybe it's not a very good idea at all..

It's pretty tough really... To think we have so many options up front and we've just been dicked 4-0 at home!!

Think Bothroyd has to start up top... Class act who has the lot. DJ is guarenteed goals so he has to play. Tarb is our best player and creative force so has to play... that leaves possibly one place for an attacking player, and I believe it should be Buz.... But how the hell can you fit all those players into a cohesive unit?

    ****ed if I know ................. :(

Buz is a bottler. Time to get rid of the dead wood and bring in some quality.

Just seen the Man City formation, similar to ours but could suit us. 4-3-2-1 as opposed to 4-2-3-1.

    So, How about

    Kenny + Back 4

    Buzsaky Derry Faurlin
    ....Tarbs Campbell
    .......Bothroyd

    That would work wouldn't it?

You've see more of him than most:emoticon-0102-bigsm

I think he has earned a squad place, but pace is a bit of an issue.

Can't wait to see Mackie back to Full Fitness. any news?
