    It wasn't a serious comment.

I love the city of my birth and I love living in an East Yorkshire village, the two are not mutually exclusive.

I wouldn't class 10 miles from Hull City centre as 'moving away'. I'm also not sure how any of the reasons you mention would apply in such instances.

I moved away from Hull for 2 of those reasons, I just don't go on about how much I love it. Cos if I did, I'd live there.

Moving 5 miles does not mean you have left the area.

Who mentioned anything about leaving the area? I'm talking about people who constantly talk about how much they love Hull as if they are Mr Hull, but can't bring themselves to possibly live there.

I love the City and the surrounding area. Everytime I come home and travel past the Humber Bridge I always say to myself I'm home. Same feeling when I was living in Cambridge (14 years) I defend it too to anyone who slags it off.

    Just sayin.

Nope. If I loved a place I wouldn't live just outside it cos I thought there was nothing in the place itself that satisfied my oh so lofty needs. That would suggest that one doesn't in fact love it and instead just says it cos it's convenient.

    Actions, words and all that,

Last time I looked it was still a free country. Of course you have personally spoke to them all to make such judgement. **** me what a pointless conversation.

It's a great City full of community spirit.
Also if people looked up occasionally they would be blown away by some of the architecture.
I lived in London for ten years soulless place.
When it comes to Hull some views are still stuck in the past and take some ****ty books comment in the year 2000 as fact.

You're having a right good go at Hull today don't know why.

Anyway its not a Hull thing to moan, its the way of the modern world aided by social media. 9th of May zombie apocalyptic scenes at Stansted airport due to IT clitch. A week ago apocalyptic scenes at Ibiza airport as cleaners go on strike. Yesterday at Heathrow and Gatwick chaos and carnage.

Due to circumstances beyond our control, **** happens.

I live in Hull and probably always will. It's a lovely City with lovely people.

However, when I win lottery, I'm offski.
I'll love Hull from somewhere warm with Palm trees.

It is like the Irish and Scots who love the places the most are those who weren't born there and in most cases haven't been there,
Or someone leaving a place because it is crap to come to this country and then wanting to alter this country to be like the one they left.

If I won the lottery I would buy a city centre penthouse in Hull. Maybe.<laugh> Or, somewhere in Dorset or the Cotswolds. Would prefer a Greek Island but the better half wouldn't move abroad. There again with a lottery win even being old, bald and overweight would mean there would be no shortage of female company. Far younger female company...Yes that's it. Doing an extra line this week.
