I don't think any UTD fan thinks the Cups we won are the top tier cups. The PL and CL are the 2 most important trophies. You could call the other 3 Mickey Mouse, but I only think you can get away with that if you have won one of the 2 major trophies.

A club who has won nothing, is in no position to say either of the trophies we won are Mickey Mouse.

Any Liverpool fan who says they would rather have finished 4th and won nothing is a liar.

You have an empty trophy cabinet, and a tricky CL qualifier to have to get through. So there's no doubt we have had a much better season.

True though would you be cheeky enough to claim you won 3 pots this year like some. I find that very funny given no right thinking man would say at least we won charity shield if nothing else in a season.

I think the majority of Man Utd fans are calling it a treble, very much tongue in cheek. I think even Mourinho was on the Wum holding 3 fingers up as he did.

It is clearly working too, as all our rivals are seething about us calling it a treble.

Whatever you want to call it a double or a treble, we as fans where very happy to win the Europa League the other night. It's not the Champions League but it still means a lot to us to win a European trophy. As it should do any club.

    So you should be.

Clubs up and down this country have no clue what a night like it is like

The point is you belittled it when Liverpool were winning it. How the mighty have fallen <laugh>.

    They weren't mighty.

How the plastic had melted and released toxic fumes making Mourinho seem acceptable.

The EL is a great trophy to win. As is the League Cup imo but understand why people devalue it.

Only reason I've called them Mickey Mouse cups is because that's what Man Utd fans were calling them not too long ago. I didn't mean it.

I also recall Man Utd fans downgrading the same scenario as you've just achieved when we had the chance to do it last season.

I'll repeat what I've already said though; end results only, Man Utd have had the better season winning two trophies so of course Liverpool fans would swap.

However, this thread was about more than just end result. As is well known on here, I'd rather be entertained during each match and win ****all than be bored senseless and win things. IMO, Mourinho offers up the worst kind of football currently on offer, and that includes Fat Sam and Tony Pulis!

PS...I did wish you guys good luck before the EL final too. Made no difference to Liverpool where you won or lost (bar a few quid when the CL money gets split bergen five instead of four but that's only a proportion of the CL income anyway)

PPS... congratulations on the win btw, don't think I've said that on here yet <ok>

Yes it does, they are our rivals. They hope we suffer as much footballing misery as possible, and the feelings mutual.

I didn't say I wanted them to win, I didn't. I just don't care too much (in footballing terms) about anything outside Liverpool Football Club.

Nor do I care what their fans think say or do (bar offensive **** about disasters of course)

    Unfortunately this is true.
I can't imagine many of them congratulating us if we'd have won it last year. While they were riding high they looked down their noses at our efforts in these trophies, now they're whining because they're getting a (little) bit back.
I think it's great to win the EL, but the hypocrisy from many (not all) in their camp is truly laughable.

You wished them luck, you might as well have changed your avatar to "do it for Manchester" or something similar.

Yeah because that's the same <doh>

I'd wish a rival for a interview luck too, doesn't mean I want them to get the job ahead of me does it?

This is what pisses me off about modern society and, in particular, modern day football fans. Who gives a **** what another club does if it as no effect on what we can achieve?

Rivalry is great but that is all it is. It's not our worst enemy who has a gun threatening or lives. It's football ffs

Hmmm. I certainly didn't want Unitard to win on Wednesday, but when I saw that ****ing petition to get rid of Owen for his heinous crime of saying 'we' ....

I'll be honest, I felt quite ashamed.

Yep, saw that this morning. People just like to hate Owen.

Admittedly, I'm not his biggest fan but then, I wasn't when he was a liverpool player either.

It isn't anything to do with 'modern' football fans. Step into any pub around Anfield on match day or into the Kop and go "Gee, I wish those Manchester United boys the best of luck today" and see how positive the response is. Even if you went 40 years back, the response would still be the same, probably even worse 40 years ago.

It's not just football though, is it? The rivalry is geographical, cultural and political, like all the great football rivalries (Celtic-Rangers, Barca-Madrid etc.). We hate them, they hate us.

Unless you put it up you've nothing to be ashamed of. We're not responsible for the idiocies of others just because we share the same allegiance.
