Sounds great but often there isn't the evidence beyond going to Syria and joining the cult. They could be beheading people and throwing others off building, but when they come back to the UK they'll say they were just the cook. They'll get 3 years, cut in half for good behaviour and then they'll be out in our community, forming part of the Trojan Horse that is trying to kill our children.

OK, make just going to Syria/Iraq on any unauthorised business the crime, with a mandatory 20 year sentence. Or more, I don't care. Anything to stop them killing people, or assisting in killing people, anywhere.
 
Terrible news my thoughts go out to them, fkin scum bastards targeting young kids & adults having night out, those converted shouldn't be allowed back in.
 
What if this guy is a UK national, who has never been to Syria/Libya/Afghanistan?

I am just sickened by the idea that anyone, anywhere, in any religion or not,.... can do this.
This to me is just the epitome of evil...there is no possible justification for an attack of this nature

A sickening day, where evil ruins families of futures and life. There is no politics in the world that should shame society in this evil and cruel way.
Most of us will sympathise with that sickening feeling of what if it were happening to my child.
My sympathy with all the families of those killed and injured :emoticon-0153-broke

An utterly depraved act, almost certainly carried out in the name of a perverted religious cause. To quote Stephen Fry once again, 'Religion? **** it'.

I note that posts relating to this disgusting atrocity remain on the General Election thread. Not the time to be thinking about June 8th perhaps, but this act will most almost certainly have a significant effect on the outcome of the election.
 
I still can't fathom out what kind of sick **** can stand next to young kids like that, look them in the eye and then detonate a device that is gonna kill and maim them....all in the name of some sick distorted version of their beliefs.......words fail me.

Distracts away from May's recent disastrous form. Will probably lead to cries for strong and stable leadership which somehow is what May would provide despite nothing to back this up. We'll almost certainly get the usual moronic bleating about immigration now it's been revealed the bloke who did it has a bit of a foreign name.

It happened on May's watch. It could work against her. Although I agree that terrorist backer Corbyn may well suffer because of this atrocity.

Gives May an opportunity to appear statesmanlike and distracts from all her weak and wobbly U-turns. No doubt the gutter press will intensify the attacks portraying Corbyn as a terrorist-sympathiser.

I agree it will probably help May. And the fact that Corbyn and others in his shadow cabinet supported the IRA may count against them..

Whatever you say about immigration, the concept of a suicide bomber is alien to our culture. It has been imported

I think there will be a pause in hostilities because of the shock - I know I am shocked and not my normal combative self.

Corbyn will suffer because he really struggles to condemn anything beyond generic 'violence' (which I am sure is genuinely sincere) he won't get specific on the perpetrators, and even if he doesn't voice it you know he feels that these atrocities are linked to current and distant past British foreign policy. It's an opinion, but not one that adds lustre to a bid to be leader of the country. I know that I can come across less than patriotic on occasion, but I'm not trying to be elected to run the country ( though if you ask nicely I'll give it a go......). Corbyn thinks he can understand what these ****ers want and negotiate with them, he has no concept that what they want is our utter destruction.

Besides this 'reaction to injustice' argument is bullshit. From day one Islam has been an aggressive, empire/caliphate building creed. The Tibetan Buddhists have seen their country occupied for 50 years, you don't see them blowing themselves and others up in every country that refuses to call out China (Buddhists have their own share of bad behaviour though).

Did anyone else listen to the Radio 4 lunchtime news? It finished with them playing a bit of Atmosphere by Joy Division on the grounds that they were a Manchester band. It freaked me out a bit.

Why can't Corbyn appear statesmanlike then?

Do you not believe all the quotes attributed to him regarding the IRA? Do you think all the photos are fakes? Did the fact that Diane Abbott try to get MI5 banned not actually happen?
