thats nice...... so what happened away then?

Everton were 4th in home table but 10th away winning just 4. Any reasons behind this in particular you think?

No mate you got to 7th in week 16 and stayed there because of the really poor form of teams below you. 6 points separating the 10 teams below you, never been anything like it.

 

I think in general we were too cautious away, and ended up with Lukaku isolated too often.

At home he got the balance spot on, away it needs attention.

 

So you sacked a #fraud spent loads of money and got lots more points, just like Chelsea

You had a record breaking home performance ahead of a move to a new stadium, just like Spurs

Lukaku was on fire in front of goal and had his highest return yet, just like Kane

And you qualified for the 3rd qualifying round of the Europa League, just like Fastav Zlín

Oh well 3 out of 4 isn't bad

 

That's bollocks though, as 61 points generally gets you 7th, and hey presto that's where we've ended up.

The gap between the top 7 and the rest is irrelevant.

 

they whole 343 thing seems to work in freeing 3 players up top to just play together.

it is interesting that away form won the prem for cheslea, 3rd for city and kept utd from total embaressment.

Its also interesting to note that away form probably kept southampton up.. cos at home their record is actually shocking.

 

I didn't think Lukaku being isolated next season would be your concern

 

I must say a certain disappointment must be felt they didn't at least give utd a run for 6th. or arsenal cos at one point not so long ago that was possible

I would agree though the points in top 6 were record breaking in many ways so there was a lot less points round the other clubs and in effect 8 down any of them could be relegated

You didn't do too well against those above you and nobody below you was challenging, that's very relevant because if they had, you wouldn't have got those 61 points.

 

Once Koeman set the target of challenging for a higher position they only won 1 out of their last 5 games

The rest of the league were either inconsistent or plain poor, you can say the entire top 7 benefited from that fact. 61 points gets you 7th in the league year in year out, and that's what happened.

 

It was only Koemans first season, he needs to bring in his own players and ingrain his philosophy.

 

We smacked up all below us.....thats how the league table tells its story in most cases.

 

The injury time penalty at United killed us and effectively ended our season.

Had we won that day we were right in the mix with both United and Arsenal.

 

But you only got those points because those below you were so poor. Your league position didn't change for 22 weeks, what does that tell you?

 

suppose a game like that comes.. like when gerrard ran on kicked someone and ran off again v utd. all the heart went out of lfc that day. It was him trying to get rogers the sack imo

..... for 22 weeks ... you didn't challenge those higher up and nobody challenged you.
