Shouldn't even be allowed to joke about that... This letter is a great idea from Helen, seems a lot are interested too. Maybe worth you doing a seperate thread Helen?
Actually old bean I gather he has re signed for Sunderland.........I'm probably late with that news too......... Edit Sorry totally mis read the article........your right he actually resigned my bad....so is he available? Is he what we would like? If Puels goes that is.......
What I don't want to hear from Claude's replacement (assuming he is gone) is what we hear most summers after a new manager signs. Namely... "I won't be rushing into the transfer market until I have had time to look at the players we already have, to give them an opportunity to show me what they can do." Look at the videos, just look at the videos from this season and bring in players that can be part of the pre-season training, so that we have a settled team/squad from the very first game.
To be fair to Claude and the previous managers, that's not really what they're doing. It's PR-speak for "the higher-ups will spend the next month or three haggling over deals, while I get increasingly antsy, but I'd like to start off on the right foot with the players we have". No manager is genuinely saying "woah now, don't sign that star right back...I need to know what Cuco has in his locker first!"
More Silva links. http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...pton-fc-porto-competing-to-land-a7749986.html
I wouldn't personally want him. But stranger things have happened, and stranger things have worked out. Let's be honest, who wanted Strachan when we got him after taking down Coventry?
Me for one. Strachan was a good manager. Coventry had been a relegation waiting to happen for years. A trilogy of Bob Paisley, Brian Clough and Alex Ferguson wouldn't have kept them up. Moyes is a whinger.
Why not post your draft as a thread then CBK can tell you to **** off and stop being a sentimental welsh prat. At which point you'll know you've got the tone right.
Once I'm happy with the letter and a couple of people have checked it for me then yes, I will post it on the other thread
Silva not on shortlist according to Jeremy Wilson: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football...a-not-southampton-shortlist-sack-claude-puel/
So that's confirmation that Puel is done, then. Wilson's our mouthpiece, and we wouldn't discuss our shortlist of potential managers with him unless we were awfully confident that our shortlist of potential managers would get a workout.
if not Silva, I kinda want Roger Schmidt. It's a bit of a risk, but having our players run around like lunatics chasing the ball was fun the first time.
I would imagine shipping 11 goals in 2 games didn't help silvas cause. Relegated or not that is pretty awful
