I don't know how anyone could come to any other conclusion.

The tax system also screws you when you get to £100k. You end up gradually losing all of your tax allowance. Someone comfortably over £100k would effectively hand over half of their earnings through NI and Tax.

On a personal level though i hate the fact that I get my private heathcare (effectively optin out of big parts of the NHS) classed as a BIK and used against me for tax purposes. Am tempted sacking it off to 100% use the NHS and save money.

You don't ban them, that's silly and very difficult to police. We just get them castrated!

But yeah, I do agree that some children have awful parents and the children shouldn't suffer because that's not fair. but how do you distinguish between the needy people and the people taking advantage.

Maybe just supply free water and free fruit that way kids all get to eat fruit if they are really hungry and its less of a financial burden. If circumstances change that much, there is job seekers, child tax credits and all the other handouts available, pack lunches from aldi can be put together for next to nothing.

I wouldn't sack it off, Private compared to NHS is like moving from a mansion to a bedsit, or living in the 21 century and going back to the 17th century. It's worth the money! I wouldn't be caught dead in one of those NHS Hospitals

If someone is on £100k pa, that means they're on over £5000 a month after tax. The increase in tax from Labour's proposal for an earner at that level comes to about £64 extra per month. If you're on 5 grand a month and whinging about an extra 64 quid, I can understand why because nobody wants to pay more tax, but come on man.

    You might be.

As for my vote this election, if I thought I was going to have to choose the outcome it would be hard. A choice between the truly awful and the ineffective. As the Tories are going to win, however, I will happily do my best to ensure that their margin is as small as possible

I've used the NHS plenty of times through the years including major surgery and never had a serious complaint. Yes there were things I would have liked to be better. Sitting in A&E waiting rooms for hours is never fun. However, even those times when I went in with serious kidney pain I was triaged within 30 minutes and given pain relief. It wasn't an emergency once pain relief was given - just unpleasant. It was frustrating seeing others coming in after me and being treated before me, but that is part and parcel of universal healthcare. As much as I didn't like waiting I wouldn't have wanted someone who needed genuine emergency treatment to be waiting just so that I could be seen quicker.

I'm not on anywhere near that <laugh>

My issue is the private healthcare.
They are taking the piss there.

The thing with our NI contributions though is that we're not paying to use the NHS. We're paying to live in a country that has an NHS.

And that is why i'll sack off private heathcare this year and use the NHS like everyone else.

Basically I will be about £900 better off in my pocket a year if I don't go private.

Folk who have private heathcare should not be penalised at all as it reduces the burden on the NHS. But no, the muppets in whitehall make it a disinscentive to go private.

The ****wits should at the very least not penalise folk for going private.

Anyway lads I'll put a pic up once I've written 'In Rafa I trust' on my ballot paper.
I'll get back to proper voting when there is a credible party headed by an electable leader.
They are all a bunch of vile self serving pricks at the moment.
I hope Dave M comes back to save Labour one day.

Make sure you cover up your ballot paper's identification number or you could be fined £5000 or face six months inside.

Like him or not, I wouldn't say Jeremy Corbyn is self-serving. Quite the opposite in fact. The vast majority of MPs are in their jobs for the right reasons IMHO. It's the career politicians who are obsessed with advancement and power where it starts to go wrong.

I've had more money spent on me by the NHS than probably 99% of the population.
Maybe its the area where you live or what's wrong with you, but, Newcastle and Gateshead Hospitals are second to none in my experience.
If the NHS was private and it was insurance based, I suspect I would be Dead among with many others like me, many years ago.
Be careful what you wish for.....it may be you or your own needing the NHS one day.

I'll be voting Labour, as I always have.
Rather than have a go at Corbyn, if anything I can't fault the policies Labour have brought out.

FFS, seriously, if you're on £80k+, you can pay that bit extra Tax.<ok>

Ditto my experiences at Dryburn mate. The irony is... going private you invariably end up seeing the same consultant as you would in the NHS anyway.

At least that was my experience when I got a penis reduction done.

I'll not get into a big political debate at party level mate. Suffice to say I'm not a fan at all of him or any of the candidates.

I think if it's anything serious you usually end up getting done in an NHS hospital too

Isn't the difference mainly that you get a comfy room of your own so you don't have to mingle with the peasants?
