3 bad results and performances, 2 against relegation rivals. So far he's proved nothing. He fell to bits when it really mattered. I think Watford will have their sights set higher, who else is going to offer him a job?
in what period? we should have beaten West Ham at the very least, do you blame Silva for that defeat?
All of the time. All managers suffer the failings of players. Is it not possible to consider the failings of all parties?
Last week was far more damaging to his reputation than today , ****ed up team selection and tactics when it really mattered, today was no more than a friendly .... I'd still like him to stay tho
The real culprit was Steve Bruce who spent tens of millions lumbering us with an unbalanced squad of players who were both not good enough and didn't suit playing together.
Silva made two major mistakes: zonal marking and playing Maguire at right back when Silva came in we didnt have a fit right back to speak of, he was never going to be allowed to sign two right backs I would have preferred that we switched between 3 and four at the back depending on who we had available one other problem was bring in two right footed wingers but you can't always get what you want in january
Think we'd see Silva's true worth after a full pre season with us or another team, where he has chance to put together a squad ahead of a season. I don't think 3 poor results make him a terrible manager, despite some shortcomings which have become apparent. 5 weeks ago most of us would have been delighted to have him stay so there's no point being fickle. And, let's be honest, are we ever going to have a manager at Hull City where they don't have their drawbacks? You could probably only point to Conte and Pochettino in the Premier League as the only near faultless managers. Personally, I think he'll be gone as the likes of Watford or Southampton will give him a chance with a better squad and less of a circus in the background.
Can you imagine who we will get as manager next season compared to Silva? If Silva is getting this criticism now I will hate to see how people will react to our next manager.
Think Silva would have taken points from the away games we had before Christmas. By the time we got to the winnable ones (Stoke, Southampton) it felt like confidence had been eroded. Missed opportunities in those games definitely but you wonder how we'd have fared had those games been in early February after we'd beaten Man United and Liverpool.
Hull City boss Marco Silva speaking to Match of the Day: "We didn't want to finish like we did today. Of course we try, we didn't achieve our goal but we need to respect ourselves. "We know Tottenham are in a fantastic moment, what they did today here they did last Thursday against Leicester as well. "We didn't play, our fans deserve more. It is a difficult decision (whether to stay). I have something in my mind and need to see what is best for me as well as the club. "Now is the moment to analyse to see what is the best decision."
Burnsey's being bit of a **** on the radio interviewing Silva...one man job trying to scare him away.
