interesting point is coutinho forward ball to sturrdige v west ham. Theres space in behind if the ball is being played from ht quickly. If you are walking ball u to final 3rd and allowing 10 men back its a problem.

I think out transition from defence needs to be a lot better and we need players like mingolet and 2 CMs to be thinking fast ball here look for options and we need 2 options to be thinking of running behind. If the pass doesn't come ok get back on side its fine...

this also creates issues cos if you have 2 CMs capable then both need to be closed down fast by opposition.

Seeing two CBs tap it about for 30seconds then a CM jog back and take it and pass sideways is what our opponents love.

Our midfield are decent, but they linger on the ball. It ruins attacks when they just sit on it and pass sideways, none of them have the vision to pass forward.

Our back line definitely play the ball too slowly and kill attacks, with the exception of Matip.

Our central midfield are either slow or don't pass through lines -

Gini can play quickly but he's too conservative.

Henderson plays very quickly but it's not progressive at all. I'd argue that Lallana is the same.

Can and Lucas can both play high risk balls but are too slow.

We only have Coutinho who is a genuine playmaker from central midfield.

So if we do go for Naby Keita we will have 2 players who potentially every two years will be off to the AFCON.

Can mess up a campaign but we need competition for Coutinho Mane and Lallana. Look at what that has done for Mignolet. We have a few players who love a big game but are not bothered for the scraps against bottom teams as they know in the current setup they will play most games.

Think we should give Clyne another season. He's had a bad one, especially defensively when you compare it to his first season, there's little point denying. I truly believe he is a better defender than Walker though. Mind you, Johnson started off great and slowly went downhill (though he was never as bad as some media pundits made out).

Nothing lucky or fortunate about our results against top 6 this season. Klopp has us doing the same last season as well. We've done really well against rivals since he joined.

no but we can't depend on winning all the games to make up for poor results against bottom half.

If we'd just drawn a couple of those ones we won we would be down the table with utd

we just need to win more consistently against bottom half sides imo. the results this year were pure gravey in the top 6. really made the difference from 6th to 4th but.. well. we could have been 2nd with them

the next step is going to be consistency and tougher to beat.

We currently have a team which is very good against teams who play a high line. This is because our high pressing causes errors which starts our attacks.

We now need a sign players who can now create chances when we have majority of the possession, and cannot rely on nicking the ball high up. Players who can carry the ball and pass through lines, and who ultimately likes to take risks.

Forget Asensio – Klopp Ready to Agree $56million Star Signing for Liverpool

please log in to view this image
Liverpool were rampant in the first half of the season and scored goals for fun. However, in the absence of star playmaker Sadio Mane, the Reds have not looked strong going forward in the second half of the campaign.

In such a scenario, the Reds must sign top quality attackers to improve the quality and depth of the department and a few top stars are linked with the club.

Not so long ago, we covered a report (via Diario Gol) claiming that the Merseysiders have made an offer for Real Madrid star Asensio, who would look to leave the Los Blancos if he does not get regular first team football.

Now, Liverpool are once again linked with Egyptian international and Roma star Mohamed Salah. Earlier this month, Goal were the ones to first mention that Liverpool want him. It seems that the interest is very serious.

Two days back, Italian source Il Messaggero also claimed that the five time European Champions want to lure the the African star. Moreover, CalcioMercato reported yesterday that Klopp is ready to sign the 24-year-old attacker and the Giallorossi want around 50 million euros ($56million) for their prized asset.

In all fairness, the Merseysiders should forget about signing Asensio and must secure the signature of Salah, who is in his peak years and has been in brilliant form for the Serie A side this season.

Marco Asensio, 21, has done well as a bench warmer for Real Madrid by scoring 9 goals and providing 4 assists in 37 games (18 starts). On the other hand, the former Basel star is one of the best players in the Italian league. Roma fans voted him as 2016’s best player (King Fut).

This season, in 35 starts in all competitions, Salah has directly contributed in no fewer than 32 goals (17 goals and 15 assists).
