I really couldn't list all the jobs I've had.

Some have lasted a couple of weeks, some just a day and one ended when I pulled into the car park on the first day, looked at the building and left.
One job ended when I was told categorically not to take the day off ...... we were playing Sheff Utd at Roker and needed a win by 4 clear goals to go top. We won 6-2 and Siddall saved a last minute penalty, I was there and sacked the next morning <laugh>

My early jobs we're debt collections, car repo's, etc mixed in with the door job, some exciting times but sad when you were taking some poor buggers car.

The maddest job I've ever had was as the project manager for a £60 million renovation on the Cap d'Antibes .......
..... totally unqualified, paid a fortune and further out of my depth than David Moyes <laugh>

Joined the Army. 22 years later I left the Army. 4 months later I was employed as a Civil Servant with the MOD (Army:emoticon-0106-cryin). After 32 years away from the place, we are currently in the process of relocating back to the North East :emoticon-0148-yes:which all depend's on finding suitable employment. ...but the Army can feck off, I've had enough of it.

As I'm entrenched within the Civil Service and I intend to retire in 9 years time, it would be stupid of me to look elsewhere. Due to that, I'm looking anywhere to be honest. Hopefully, I'll get a job in Durham or Washington. I'm fortunate to have enough equity in my house to be mortgage free or failing that a very small mortgage. I would like to live close to my family (for once) near Easington, so looking around places close to there.

This used to be one of the best boards, on not606, no reason it can't be again.

Left school in 64 straight into Bainbridge's at Newcastle, ( I actually sold Jimmy Montgomery a load of light fittings when he first got married, his wife was gorgeous)
Left in 68 and spent 28 years in the police on Teesside, loved every minute of it but left due to I'll health.
Worked part time at the Boro, Ayresome Park then the Riverside, doing community work, I was the only Sunderland fan there and took some **** as it was the Janihenio (spelling) Ravanelli era and they were better than us at the time.
Left there in 98 to move to the Lakes and currently working part time for the out of hours Doctors Service driving GPs to patients homes who are too ill to attend the centre and really love it.
As can be seen working for the community had always been a big part in my life.

Served time as an apprentice Electrician at what was Sunderland PWD. Finished apprenticeship and buggered off down ICI for the cash. Worked for some canny big electrical and facilities management companies.

Been working as a facility/maintenance manager for a few years now. Been lucky in that I enjoy life and have had a laugh regardless of where I have worked.

Yes I was down in Nottingham, East Yorkshire and at Easington Colliery, at different times, being from a Mining background I actually related with and got on well with the Pickets I was involved with.
All Bobbies didn't beat the **** out of the miners, believe it or not Comm.

Went into the NHS straight from college as a clerical officer in Medical Records at Dryburn then General Office at St Margaret's in Durham.
Then was Assistant Hospital Secretary at Earls House. We had some new build and enjoyed the planning and managed to get a post on the user briefing team for the RVI redevelopment. Was there in '73 where both my boss and his boss were Leeds supporters. Oh what joy! After a reorganisation went to Northern Region then later to South West Region where became a client side Project Manager. Ended up in Cornwall as an Estate Manager dealing with Estates IT and other Projects management and general management as well as being part time with the Primary Care Trust on all Estates matters being the link back to the county wide support services, who held my contract. Now retired and back in Durham.

Painter, landscape gardener, decorator, warehouse administrator, B & Q gardening dept part-time, recycling dept for a bit. Crumble bumble you say you designed/built Dennis fire engines well my dad is a dennis fire engine fanatic and drove loads from the 1950's through the 1960's, they were his favourite machines which did you build/design. Did you know the Oxford diecast fire engines are designed by Ronnie Henderson my dad's friend who lives in the north east, and he has the whole lot !.
