On the face of it, it looks like it has draw written all over it but I expect Arsenal to win with ease and RVP to bag a brace. Arsenal are good at home in contrast Liverpool are poor away and I think that will continue. Arsenal 3-0 Liverpool. RVP to bag a brace and Ramsey to net another
Now you're just taking the piss I'm expecting a very boring match this weekend but it is an excellent chance for a rare league victory over Arsenal at the Emirates with the likely exclusion of Nasri, Fabregas is gone, Song and Gervinho suspended, and Wilshire a doubt. I'm going to predict 0-0
Haha, I'm only going on hearsay and when we played you. You can't expect to watch all your games. That's why I was expecting an answer to that question.
What is the general feeling of ths game for you guys? Do you feel it is already a must win to get that step up on us or do you feel it is a long season and other results will come. Have to admit, I was disappointed we did not hold on for the win this past weekend but you run that risk when you don't finish a team off with your chances. Also watched the Arsenal x Toon game and while there was that feeling something was missing ( Cesc and Nasri of course), you still played the same style and it was slick at times, probably still missing that cutting edge? Losing Gervinho will be a blow but i think Theo can fit in there easily and probably do a better job. With Chelsea, Us, Arsenal and about half the prem drawing this weekend it turned out not too bad in the end. I really hope we can break our Emirates winless streak but not sure on this one, if there was ever a time for it to happen though, it is probably this weekend, but we shall see.
Ze liverbird Are you mad? Kelly better than Sagna? Thats like saying Lansbury>Gerrard. Sagna was voted best right back in the premiership, do you actually think Kelly should have that title? Good god
Going to be a tight game after both teams losing points on the opening day. Carroll has to link the play for us to do well.
Alright, Calm down! Personal preference and all that, I don't have to follow the crowd ya know, I rate Kelly higher than Sagna - I bet there's some mad people out there who rate Wilshere better than Gerrard.
I predict the match to go like that too. Btw talking of Szczesny being able to be the best in the world may be pushing it a bit but he is very very very good. He may not get talked about much in the media but we know just how good he is.
He still looks a bit off the pace, but he did well I thought in linking play when it was a good ball to him ie on the deck not hoofs to nowhere. He can win those but with that size, play him on the ground and no defender is getting round him or in front of him.
He was probably not up to his usual standards under Hodgson, but that was understandable as Reina is a sweeper keeper and Hodgson was playing the defence right on the 6 yard line, which wasn't helping him at all. When Dalglish came back he was back up to his usual world class standard though.
I was talking about him being the best in the world when he was 28+ or something. Not right now. That would be delusional.
I see. Fair enough. I just knew he was coming under criticism in the first half of the season. If he's back to his best then he's fantastic.
We are hoping for the same thing with Shelvey and Henderson, both been linked in how they play to Stevie G. So by the time they are 28 we will have two Gerrard-esque players......... here's hoping! haha. Although if the players we have bought " for the future" are still here when they are 28 then fair enough.
here's my early views; 1. what level of dissarray are arsenal in? or not. 2. have arsenal got the fitter players? or not. 3. as for those who think reina is this or that... mr wenger was after reina.. ergo he'd like to have him... end of. 4. I think we'll be better prepared next week than this week and will play more cohesively. we cobbled to gether a side due to full back issues. 5. if/when fabregas and nasri both go... will arsenal come under huge fan pressure, media pressure, no press? will it be this week or not until this match is over... will a plyaer stand up and critise wenger.... 6. too soon for any team speculation but one can only conclude liverpool will be unchanged barring the right full slot.
Always annoys me to see how quickly the media jump on the bandwagon of someone being weak when they make a mistake e.g Scenehcehcfedwsny in the cup final, he makes one mistake and the media are calling for Wenger to sign a new keeper, when it simply isn't needed, especially an average one like Given who is inferior to Scncejdfeencezny already. While someone like Van Der Sar gets away with poor positioning all of the time because of what he's done in the past. I'm not saying Van Der Sar is a poor keeper, but there were countless times last season when he should've stopped the opposition scoring but didn't because he was poorly positioned for the shots.
I know you will get a lot of cash in for Cesc (35 mil) and Nasri (20-30?), but I feel he is leaving it late to buy a replacement that can come in straight away. Rumors of Jadson sound good but can he come straight in and hit the ground running? I wonder who Mr. Wenger has on the radar though, should be interesting. After Cahill's goal on the weekend think both of us will go for him! lol.
Whilst obviously hoping for a win at Arsenal, I am more intrigued to find out how you all feel about what is going on at the Emirates. So, Fabregas has gone and nobody appears to be denying that Nasri will go, where does that leave your side? It puts a whole load of responsibility on Wilshire's shoulders. Is he good enough to provide the leadeship that you so patently missed last season? Even if Wenger does splash the cash (which your own supporters at Newcastle doubted) who is he going to buy? It looks to me like he has set a trap for himself - he can't buy a prospect but a marquee player would appear against both his and your team's philosophy. One thing would appear certain - it's going to cost you as all clubs know that you have both the need and the money. As an aside, it's silly to compare Sagna and Kelly. Both are quick, both have good covering skills. However, Sagna has 2+ seasons experience behind him whereas Kelly has less than a quarter. Sagna is an over-lapping full back whereas Kelly will ultimately move into a CB position. The above is not a wind-up. We read loads of crap in the papers but how do you see it?
