JRod looked good when he came on. A lot sharper than earlier in the season.

Think he panics knowing he has to get the cross perfect. Should be beating the first man though.

Really do not understand why he had not grab the ball and bury it in the net, time for him to some some Cajonas

A much better performance in the second half. JRod looked sharp but missed the best opportunity.
Why does CP keep taking JWP off and replacing him with Boufal ffs?
Stephens looked good again. Targett had a good game but his crosses need working on but remember this was his first game back

I appreciate jrod is likely to be off but he has always looked sharp in his limited opportunities, gives 100% and runs his socks off. I applaud him for that

Ah!! Someone agrees with me regarding the League Cup! It would allow the clubs more breathing space. Keep to the 20PL as in La Liga and Seria A otherwise the Championship is going to be utterly clogged up with "has-beens."

On way back, poor game. Looked better towards the end but generally dreary to watch. Hoping for better next year.

I thought we played well, man united defended the whole game, people only see what they want too.. we had no room, some good touches. The penalty miss tho....

18 PL and 4 FL divisions with 20 each = 98 League teams, or 4x22 for 106. I think there are enough professional-ish teams to add another nationwide league.

(but I'm not totally unreasonable...I'll counter offer 20 teams in the PL as long as the Europa and Champions League gets combined into a huge 2-legged knockout competition with a couple of hundred teams in it)

Stephens I thought was fantastic bar a couple of minor mix-ups with teammates that weren't that bad. Most others giving their usual good standard. Redmond was bright as normal but had one of his games where decision making hampered him and he fell off rhythm and then waned hugely at the end. Targett was rrruuussstyyyyyy, I usually think the stick he gets for his ability going forwards is pretty unwarranted though he is by no means an attacking phenom, but today he couldn't have seemed less comfortable on the ball. Boufal wasn't bad when he was on the ball but his attitude was terrible, especially in comparison to a lot of our players who I thought were doing well to push on, even for a luxury player. Not a complaint I often have of players. Tadic still not totally in the flow of things.

Having three players who are so mercurial in Tadic, Boufal and Redmond is really giving us more of the curse side of the delicate balance between blessing and curse. They're hard to predict at the best of the times but I think all three of them are mysteries even to themselves when they got knocked off their normal game or their normal game isn't working (To be fair I'm not sure Boufal HAS a normal game). There's so much potential for quick play and link-ups with their talent and playing styles, but there is just so much hesitation and confusion. There were a few agonising moments towards the end when we did actually get some room on the break and the attacking players didn't even know what they were doing next let alone what any of the others were going to do. Contrast that to Davis who keeps things so much more natural, he might not be nearly as incisive but he is significantly more decisive.

I really don't think the approach has been that negative recently, but the pieces of the puzzles really don't seem to be placed in correctly.

Interesting. Maybe have the bottom two divisions on the same level but split geographically to save them a few quid on travel?

Way too much Jay bashing on this forum. He's International standard and will have that extra half a yard next season!

As did everyone in the final third. Decent shot on the turn, linked play ok, worked hard. Compare it to his performances earlier on when it really did look like his prem career was over. He was by no means a star, but came on and did well I thought.

I'm semi-trolling really (who me?), I'll work it all out later and save it for a boring week in the summer.

United were there for the taking. They blatantly had their minds on the EL final. We were decent in parts but we should have put 2 or 3 past them. And I thought the timing of the first substitution was bizarre. We were just building up a head of steam and Puel decided to change things. Didn't work.

I get some like Jay and think he can get back to how he was. But this is a little bit of a stretch
