It's hard to put a finger on exactly what is wrong, we have played decently and a lot of the build up has been good but we struggle to create chances and don't play through teams. Still on for a dirty 1-0 victory mind !
We have to remember we are playing against the master of setting up not to concede in Mourinho though...
We don't attack that often, and when we do we reach the edge of the box and run out of ideas. Utd are nothing special.
Can we bring back Rickie just to sub him on for pens? It's still taking some getting used to this missing penalties lark. Or I suppose we could just... Maybe... If we're feeling crazy... Let JWP take them.
Could we play any slower, as Souness said this is being played like a testimonial Matty T playing well but not being really tested is probably my highlight. That says it all
Well Souness reckons we're "a yard slow on everything you have to do to win games in the Premier League." Sounds about right.
I think we're playing pretty well but having the same old problems and missing the pen has definitely sucked a lot of life out of the team and fans (not that there was a lot of life there to begin with).
I cannot for the life of me see why JWP isn't the automatic first choice for penalties when he's on the pitch. Obvious.
I will admit the end of the season has lacked a wee bit of excitement but I wouldn't blame Puel. I'm fairly sure his team talks don't include " get out here boys, be as boring as you can!"
