We couldn't afford him for a start and I doubt he'd be willing to work under a SD.

We seem to have money to burn in other areas £7m for Wildshit and £8.5m and £50k week for Naisy but we only go for bargain basement managers .

He was reportedly on $2.5m a year whilst coaching the USA national side .
We wasted 4 or 5 times more on Ricky the Wolf Wolfswinky

You could soon add at least another 2 clubs to the list, in terms of Manager Search.

Boro will look for a proper head coach to get back up, and I would imagine a fair few clubs would be looking at the Hull boss and see some potential there. Holding out for as long as we can is really working in our favor.

Frankly i'm glad Webber is taking his time and looking for the person he wants rather than panic buying from the usual manager-merry-go-round.

Bang on the money HMQC, I really don't understand FML's impatience, let's do it properly in the first place then we won't be clamouring for the manager's head at Christmas, we've had too much of that recently! <cheers>

I would put Sheffield Wednesday in the driving seat in the play-off semi now so Wagner could well be appointed as early as next week ;)

I can see both sides to the argument. If we continue to drag our heels then we could miss out on our top targets as hopefully they will have a CV that means they are in demand. But Webber must have a good idea of who he wants already so I assume it is just that the target hasn't finished their season as yet. Or even negotiations are going on in the background. lets face it, it won't serve anyone well for premature releases of details only for something to go wrong.
Whilst I'd love to know sooner rather than later and it gives the newby more time to assess who he wants to keep and let go. We were given a timeline by Webber and I'll be reasonably relaxed uptil the point when that passes. If he misses the target (I don't believe he will), I'm sure at least we will see some degree of communication to keep us all on side.

    Bah!

Ed balls has lined up some more Television work.
I wouldn't be disappointed If he stepped down from his position at NCFC.

That narrows it down considerably, General. Fleetwood lost in their play off game, so their season is over, Leeds crashed and burned over the last month of the season <applause> so that only leaves Wagner or someone European whose league is still in progress?

Did you not see "or negotiations are going on in the background"? Perhaps that doesn't fit the way you want to portray NCFC!

Webber is looking for a final shortlist of 2-3 candidates. If any one of those is still involved in their season, then we still have to wait. That could be Wagner or it could be a foreign manager whose season is still going on, or both.

It's hard to feel sorry for Leeds.

Could you imagine it if we took Monk? Christ it would be like the end of the world for them.

I like Monk anyway, but pinching him from Leeds would be a monumentally large cherry on top!

That's all I'm saying. the top choice of the poll was Rowett. A team sacked their manager a few days after us, and had him signed up within a couple of days, because they had to act incase we got him. The longer it's gone on, the more managers get snapped up.

If Boro and Hull go in for a manager, who would he chose? Freshly relegated with the many millions of Parachute payments? Or an average Championship side who pretend we never had any parachute payments.

A month or so ago, those 2 sides wouldn't even be in competition with us, because they had sturdy managers. We have let it drag on, managers have been taken by clubs who sacked their manager way after us, now we are going to have newly relegated Premiership clubs to add to the mix.

It's not me being impatient. It's me being realistic.

I see what you're saying FML and I've just got this feeling that it's going to be someone 'left field', who is still managing a club in the Bundesliga. I mean what was Wanger's knowledge of the Championship before taking over at Huddersfield and I think you'd agree that he's done a pretty decent job!!!!!
Keep your powder dry and if the HC hasn't been announced by the next Bank Holiday, only then will I start to panic. <ok>

It's not "dragging your heels" if the person you want is not available yet. Sure if City were dead keen on Warburton or Rowett etc then they missed the boat, but sensibly the club felt a new sporting director model was the way forward and naturally he should have a big say in who the HC will be. It sounds like he's got a shortlist prepared and in some cases those people are still active with their current clubs. For the sake of a couple of weeks we avoid any "tapping up" consequences and still have plenty of time for pre-season / transfer selections. I don't think it's necessary to get stressed about it right now. Each to their own tho eh?
