Re the subject of horse racing there is actually a really, really interesting one running today and I can’t wait to see how he fares. Not a betting proposition though as he’s long odds-on. I’m talking about Mr Henderson’s OK CORRAL (2.00 Kempton Park). He’s now a 7YO and makes a very, very belated debut over hurdles. Has obviously had his problems as Ok Corral has not run for a walloping 746 days. However, in his 2 bumper appearances the old boy made quite an impact. Winning very nicely at Kempton Park, on his racecourse bow, before finishing a 2.25 length 2nd to Yorkhill (subsequently a 4 time Grade 1 winner) at the 2015 Punchestown Festival – the pair 17 lengths clear of the 3rd (and the horses behind weren’t trees as they included subsequent 6 time winner Sandymount Duke and Grade 2 winner Up For Review). After that Punchestown run Ok Corral was being talked about as a possible winner of the 2016 Supreme and it will be fascinating to see if he can start to make up for lost time this afternoon.
I think it is time we all put that episode behind us. I'm not sure what the post "Bling King 17:35 Wetherby Wins" has done to cause any offence so can we please move on?
Looks like I missed a disagreement somewhere Very unlike me the CHAV (as someone in no uncertain terms described me). Can't for the life of me remember who made such derogatory remarks though
Brighton 240 Going to have a little go on Malaysian boleh now it's has drifted into double figures the drop back in trip and a 7lb claim and the return to track may well prompt a return to form . Quite happy to see the visor returned again to.
I’ll tell you something, troops. OK Corral’s leap at the final flight was a good a last flight jump as I think I’ve ever seen. He probably only beat trees but he could literally still be anything.
Has anyone seen those opening 2 handicaps at York on Wednesday?!? Cor blimey I don’t think it’s an exaggeration to say you could quite easily pick 15 in either heat and not get one placed. Amazingly tricky contests. And in my opinion anyone wagering on them should have a medal, for bravery, pinned on their lapel by a Minor Royal.
Both myself and Ron have always held the view that the "softly softly" approach to moderation works best. The only person I can recall us banning is ArkleSupreme, who proved himself to be the greatest WUM in the universe. The "standards" on this forum are clearly flown down to us from the site owners & super mods, and we try to enforce them in a constructive and "light-handed" manner. No one has tried to gloss over what happened here and we endeavoured to clear the air via PM at the time, which we thought we had. Heisenburg decided not to interact with the forum for a while, which many here found unfortunate as they appreciated his input. I think it is fair to say that Heisenburg did apologise, and that he has not posted anything untoward since. For me the matter is closed. Can I suggest you set up your system to ignore posts from Heisenburg? I think I speak for all on the forum that we don't want this all to resurface again every time Heisenburg chooses to post a tip on the forum. That simply wouldn't be cricket, would it old boy? Simply ignore him and move on.
OK, will do. Won't change my view though The 'cyber security' (cor blimey what a terrible bit of terminology) at the Coalface is currently being stepped up big time in light of recent events so I would imagine that by the end of the month I'll hardly be on here at all anyway - as the 'outside' sites (i.e. non university, general ac.uk websites and Government pages) that we can visit will be practically nil under the new security measures.
Its certainly been a fun final day on the forum! Certainly more enjoyable than the past few months on here. Well done dear old Heisenburg for coming back today and really allowing me to stir it (although I’m sure I could have found an alternative ‘patsy’). LOL. Love you really, old boy. In almost 6 years of membership I think the only truth I’ve ever told is that the coalface’s cyber security is being stepped up after the weekend’s events and so at a stroke that will mean that very, very shortly I can’t access Not606 from work (just university, ac.uk and Government sites only, I’m afraid) – and I’m not sad enough to want to go on Not606 at home! So it’s goodbye. Farewell. Adieu. I haven’t actually had a bet, on the gee-gees, for about 2 and a half years as quite frankly horse racing is a load of old nonsense isn’t it – as I think a few of my posts in that time have testified! The Simonsig rant was a half-truth which showed partly how I feel about the ‘sport’ these days. And JB and Bronwyn I don’t really live in Chippenham (or Wiltshire for that matter) either! Its all been fun and groovy. LMFAO…
Ah Barney don't be throwing your toys out of the pram like that, have a good long walk around chuckle manor and let it blow over old boy.On the horsey front I think Mark Walsh may have made an error choosing the Bolger runner in the 7.40. Whatareyoudoingtome won't mind the going and proved he loves a good old slog after winning at Punchy lto.7/2 win for this bouyo
Riddlestown a bit risky in the next but barring that the favourites look like the all could oblige for the rest of the Towcester card
I've made it quite clear I'm not your biggest fan and we've had our disagreements but I don't want to see anyone leave the forum especially if that person is leaving due to feeling abused. Just do as Oddy suggests and use the ignore list and crack on as normal
