Think he'll sign a new deal. He thinks he's better than he is and can't see him going to a better club than Everton for the money they and he's want. Unless Poch thinks he'd fit in at Spurs, don't see who else would be interested?
If he goes to one of the elite he could miss out on a world cup spot due to lack of playing time, too big a risk. If he wants a move his best options would be ambitious clubs in around the top ten.
Yes I agree at times when I watch him I think he reminds me of poor version of Gazza. I don't think he is clever enough either to go right to the top either his reading of the game seems poor
Hes the same player he was 2 years ago, but 2 years ago he was still a kid with potential. Now he's entering his prime years and hasn't pushed on at all. Maybe he needs that move but would be big risk for a player that hasn't lived up to his potential.
Maybe a season long loan abroad would benefit him. He needs to get away from Everton to help his game improve. It's not so much Everton fault but him being a local lad seems to effect him( don't know why)
With 1 year on contract loan won't happen. Be no benefit to Everton. It's sign this week or sell by sounds of it. Hi k his agents prob putting feelers out to city, united, Spurs to see if any interest, if not then he'll sign as Everton are best of the rest and he's not going to drop down a team.
Comparing Cairney to Shelvey is stupid, Cairney plays a lot further forward. Good player but not worth over £10m
When we first signed Rob Lee he played right wing? To be honest I can see the comparison in the mid part of his career here though when he became a goalscoring attacking midfielder. He's nothing like Parker though who was an energetic holding midfielder. Parker's energy became his greatest downfall. Never learnt the art of holding midfield.
Reading 2-1 up on aggregate. Hope they hold on: I think Fulham would be stronger over 38 games next season, and we might have a chance at Cairney if they don't come up.
That's Fulham staying put for now. I say make a crack for Cairney, perhaps we can bring their asking price down to £12-14m.
I've no idea how bad Saivet is really. Colback just needs to be taken out into the woods and buried though.
See we've linked with Aaron Mooy this morning as well - guess that might depend on how Huddersfield do tonight (or in the final)
I think £15m + £5m if you stay up would be a fair deal. I would be interested to see how he performs in the premier league - he has been immense for us this season as attacking midfielder in a 4-3-3 formation but in the premier league a lot of teams sacrifice that position for a defensive midfielder. Because it is a bit of luxury position you have to be pretty special to justify it and as good as Cairney has been for us I don't know he is at that level. In a Benitez team I could see him ending up playing on the left or right wing in the way Gerrard did and he could be quite effective, although maybe a bit one dimensional, coming in from the right wing onto his left foot. I'm fairly sure he will move on and his stats this season merit a place in a premier league team but (and I recognise my bias) I think if he stuck with Fulham another season and took us into the premier league he would get his best chance to show his ability in a team built around him. It would be pretty hard to convince him of this though when he's got the offer to step up straight away - Slavisa is a pretty scary man so I think this situation would be best resolved if he comes out bare chested and threatening physical violence toward all parties should the rumours continue.
