You sure that's got nothing to do with having no financial "incentive" to renew before the deadline this year?
That probably hasn't helped. Never got the reasons behind that move. But then, that in itself, is in keeping with the muddled thinking from the club right now.
Once the new owners are in situ and a new Manager is in place, would you consider returning to the fold? You can take a fan out of the Saints, I don't think it is possible to take the Saints out of a fan.
I think it's probably because most fans haven't buried their heads in the sand. The football is boring. You cant argue with that point. Yes this is a poorly timed argument given that last nights first half was actually quite entertaining, but on the whole, the football is boring.
My father supported me growing up. Sometimes this involved giving me a bollocking if i did something bad or not up to standard. And thats fair enough. Is a football team really so different? A manager gives a player a tongue lashing if they do something stupid or dont work hard, so why cant we?
Sorry to hear you say you may not renew CBK..........In truth how many of us say that after a particularly difficult season. Last time we were in the top flight I seem to remember a lot of my fellow supporters saying the same thing for nigh on 20 or so of the 27 odd years we were there. They are still ST holders today. Mind you that might help the Puel out brigade if your one of those...........in truth I'm not convinced he is the manager for us and the last few performances have not helped. Again I repeat that should not be taken as me saying the manager should go though.
Don't know. Never not had a season ticket since the early 80's, so it will be a new experience to me to either not go at all, or pick or choose games. To be honest, I've been offered free tickets on numerous occasions this season via business. My daughter is old enough now to go on her own to games and she doesn't want me embarrassing her anymore. Thinking about it, the core of mates I grew up with going to games together has decreased season on season. It picked up when we were in League 1 & Championship, but last 3 years its dropped to where an average group of 20 or so, is now 3 or 4. In fact, last night, were several ST holders around me not in their seats
That would only be relevant if we completely sold out of STs in past years....I'm not sure we have. I accept it may give someone a chance to get a better seat. The proof of the pudding is in the eating....ST sales give the club a nice wodge up front so a fall in sales is concerning, but it is overall attendance next season that will really reflect how we are doing. A good start next season and people will come, but a poor start could hit the coffers.
Last Season I was in a group of five, I am on my own this Season, but none of them left because of the state of the Club, all had valid reasons, including one who is now a Steward. Fans are transient, they come and go, if your seat is available someone else will fill it. Only one person can make the decision, and that is yourself.
Because we are there to inspire these highly paid sportstars. I don;t know why the BBC keep saying that sportspeople inspire us when it is us that apparently need to inspire them. And because before we paid their wages so were entitled to give them a tongue lashing whereas now we don't. The media do so they get to do the tongue lashing instead.
Oh, I'm happy with my decision. It feels right because the core truth of it is... I simply don't enjoy going to St Mary's anymore.
So, Continuing to come to matches and looking for and discussing ways to improve = burying your head in the sand. Giving up you season ticket and not coming to matches any more until everything is magically fixed = not burying your head in the sand. Okay then.
I have a Brother-in Law who used to watch my nephew play football and he used to spend the whole game shouting at him and telling what he was doing wrong. The poor kid was bundle of nerves at the end of the match.
Fans have come season after season for years when we had far less hope than we have now. Perhaps all this fan unrest shows that we are now a big club.
