do you think its acceptable with increase in ticket prices massively increased revenue from tv ect that 1.25 m has been our total spend with nothing in defence? bolton are hardly a class act? boothroyd and campbell are good signings definetly but if warnock has had his ands tied to this extent .... just seems like aload of crap..ive been folowing qpr sice a kid grew up in hammersmith always folowing the news gossip on here and bbc 606 so to start givin about climbing out the wood work is just silly,,, we deperatly need investment that much is clear.

First rule of business - The customer is always right

All the actions of the Goons over the summer ignored that simple rule, they will realise how much their lack of investment and condescending attitude to the 'punters' has cost them very quickly. Some 3,500 empty seats on Saturday cost them almost £200k and there will be a lot more empty seats if this continues...

Whilst there can be no argument against the fact that NW's hands have been tied during this transfer window, I think the point needs to be made that, even if he'd had 20million to spend, there's no guarantee that the likes of Wes Brown, Jon O'Shea etc would want to come to an unstable looking club that are new to the prem. They're far more likely to go to clubs who have become established in the Prem and offer a better chance of staying there. It's a chicken and egg situation imo. Stay up for a season and more players will want to come.

I still think that a lot of it has something to do with the sale of the club. By spending £10m - £15m on players for Warnock the current owners might have jeopardised the sale of the club.

We now know that a Bhatia/Fernandes deal is on the table and that they seem to be saying that they will stick by NW. However, there have been others mentioned (the Russian for one) who might have decided that Warnock would have to be replaced. If a lot of the club's cash had been put into Warnock signings then it would mean that any new manager would have to spend even more to get the players he wants.

Had someone other than Fernandes/Bhatia bought the club they would prefer to have the cash in the kitty to spend the way they want, and not the way the old regime wanted.

Had the sale of the club gone through in May or June there would not be this problem. A new owner would then have made decisions about Warnock's future. If he stays then give him the money for players, if he goes, then give the new manager the money for players. Don't saddle a new manager with Warnock's signings and no (or little) money top spend.

I think youve got it spot on Eamon. I also think that's why Warnock has hung in there and kept his thoughts to himself and his mouth firmly shut.

It looks to me as if these 'deals' have been under negotiation for some time and Bhatia has told Neil to hold on.

I guess if this goes through early this week then there's still enough time and hopefully money for Neil to sign players right up to the transfer deadline which to be fair is what he's been intimating recently

All the TV money has been sp**ked up the wall already. Did you see the new card reader operated turnstiles? And who could fail to notice the new electronic advertising hoardings, very swish and expensive. Bearing in mind there were only about 5 advertisers last season it is amazing what TV exposure can do! Add to that the new TV box in the away end and extended camera gantry it is easy to see where some of the cash has gone.

£1.2m on DJ Campbell, the rest is going towards wages for the free transfers. We don't even have a kit sponsor, could it mean Fernandes (owner of Air Asia) wants to take over and wouldn't like to see a rival airline (Gulf Air) on our shirts?

Bernie and Flavio may well have decided to pay themselves back what they are owed. Previous threads have noted how much of a loss the club runs at, would you want to p*ss your cash in the wind for no return? It takes an Uber-rich owner to run a club in the current footballing climate and, sadly, without Mr Mittal coughing up the asking price we are going nowhere in a hurry.

Do we really want another F1 owner? Fernandes looks to be too much of a wide-boy for my liking.

The only way is up (or down), bring on the Toffees!!!

Not so - I stand to be corrected, but I would seriously doubt that the club gets a lump sum payment of TV money before the season starts. Most, if not all, of the TV money has yet to materialise.

Bolded the key point. That's almost certainly the case, and would indicate that this deal has been some considerable time in the brokering. and he's not Bernie or Flav, so I have no idea how he would be as an owner - however, I'll be happy if there's a considerable investment from the Mittals as part of the deal.

As for the rest? As I said, the money won't have been paid yet.
