SSN reporting the above. Thoughts? http://www.skysports.com/football/n...to-remain-in-charge-of-sunderland-next-season
At least I can keep focused on my life. I've lost complete interest with that muppet in charge. Worst manager in over a decade. They'll barely sell season tickets with him still here.
Doubt he had a better offer. Please that we're not chopping and changing again to be honest. I want stability.
So do I. Moyes has just relegated us, though. He hasn't provided stability. I don't want to stick with the wrong man in the name of stability, either.
I don't see it as Moyes relegating us, I get that you do, I just don't. I'd stick with Humpty Dumpty at the moment. I'd rather just see what a manager can actually do as opposed to what we have been doing which has been utterly boring and left me barely interested. We've got a habit of turning the right man into the wrong man in the space of a few months.
An absolute travesty. Ellis Short has turned his back on the fans. I don't see how we go forward from now. With this decision we've halved our fan base. I can't see more than 15,000 at home games next season whilst Moyes is here. We'll be in the lower part of championship under the buffoon. Our only hope for the future is Short sells and the new owners bring a new manager in.
Long way back when the majority of the away fan base turn on you. I'm all for stability/continuity, but what's the point when the guy giving you it has been utterly useless.
There is no way he would have resigned. Fully expected him to be in charge next season, we will just have to see now if he gets any cash and how he goes about building a team for the championship after the inevitable clear out.
Well that's the decision most posters didn't want, but you play the hand you're dealt. Everything depends on how much cash is made available and how fast you get players in, I honestly don't believe you have to have a great manager to succeed in that league, the squad is much more important. Over the summer maybe many of you will be swayed, by signings who have passion rather than a bank balance to gloat about, plus with football disappearing for a few months, you'll be itching to start a new challenge. Moyes isn't everything, he is only part of the bigger picture.
Genuinely want yas back up for the rivalry and maybe us finally winning a derby. Dam sight fukin harder with Moyes in charge. Mind if Ellis provides funds even moyesy should get you out of there
Of course he wasn't going to resign, if he resigned now he'd never had a chance of hell of getting a decent job after 3 abject failures in a row. He's staying in the desperate hope that he can do better in the champ, and at least save some of his tattered reputation. If he fails in the champ that'll be the end of him, he'll become an interminable bore of a pundit on the Sky coach a la Souness and McClaren. An awe-inspiring first quote from him - "I know what needs to be done to get back in the Premier League,", shame you didn't know what was needed to be done to stay in it then.
Lose 3 of the first 5 games next year and they'll be baying for blood. Then we'll be back to square one if we sack him then.
I'm not disappointed or surprised because it was expected. I actually think we'll do well next year and Moyes will do a decent job.
