You can't claim today's pass to Rooney as "creating a chance". He rolled the ball square about 5 yards. It was Rooney's touch which created the chance.

 

He has still played a part in 3 goals already for Man Utd.

 

If you look again he hung the ball up and it was an o.g., who has made yet another appearance in their team. Two years ago he scored more goals than Berbatov.

 

I wish that just once a pundit would say 'oh well I'll wait until a few games have been played and then I'll come back to you.' They all feel the need to make grandiose predictions based on very little information aside from their own ill-informed opinions.
The only guy I actually rate is Lee Dixon.

 

I'm a liverpool fan and i agree Jordan Henderson is the worst signing of the summer!
Downing is a great one though.

 

Jordan Henderson was signed for five years and not five minutes. He was signed for what he provides and thats energy, he did quite well yesterday. Our problem was collective, and its unfair to single out individuals.

 

Early days for the lad Henderson so no need to panic, however it was strange he got the nod over the Aquaman..

Really disappointed with the second half, no fight.. need to sort that out, still unable to finish off games. Why?

 

I dont remember seeing him do anything well this year! Thats 9 months, not 5 minuites.

You are totally right about waiting until teams settle down and attain full match fitness. The best anyone can say at the moment is "if things continue as they are then there are signs of..........". From what I have seen so far the side who 'appear' to have the biggest problems are Arsenal.

 

like i have said before, i think Henderson has been bought as a long term replacement for Gerrard
Area to area, and lung bursting runs into the box.
I presume KK and DC see him as the best option in createing this replacement, work on him for a couple of years and if he turns into 75% of the player Gerrard is then a bargain

 

Ashley Young is a better player than Stewart Downing, no doubt about it. So the fact you paid more for Downing suggests he may have been over priced, he could still prove a useful signing but is he worth 20m? Not IMO I'm afraid

 

In comparison to de Gay...he's worth every penny.

 

A better player is a very relative term. The question for Liverpool is which of the two players best fits their style and pattern of play. It has nothing whatsoever to do with price. Your opinion on this point is threfore totally irrelevant.

The thing with any punditry is that it should be taken on par with pub talk. The Soccer Saturday team are quite amusing and if anything Thomo is over estimating the Reds chances, we are border line top 4 at best. Top three is far away for now.
The Sky live match pundit team however may as well be a sack of potatoes.
