http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=75626 Personally I'm sceptical about this, will people really change to the other side of the ground just because it's called the Kop? Will familes do vice versa because it's the Family Stand? Will people realise? Will it just make one half of the ground a bit more atmospheric and make the other half silent? Lets face it, if it wasn't a classic 'Kop' before this will be the final nail in it's coffin IMO. It's never going to be like at Filbo when it was terracing and wasn't half full of away fans. The singing section is in the East Stand and I can't see it being challenged anytime soon just because the Kop is swapped. (Though in fairness I thought the Kop looked/sounded pretty good yesterday compared to usual). It may help the atmosphere it may not. Thoughts?
It´ll be like it was back in the Filbert St. days. I though it abit odd the pissed up away fans screamimg every bad word under the sun were right next to the family stand.
I was talking to my Dad a bit earlier about this, when I raised the issue of all the atmospheric areas being at one end of the ground. He then pointed out the fact that all the singing at Filbo was done in one end, and the majority of the rest of the ground was quiet. Personally I think this would be a great idea, it would link up the people who want to sing from the kop end and the East stand.
Right they cant move the away fans because its alot easier for the police if they are in that corner as they are easier to get in and out the ground without mixing with the home fans and they would have to sort out some sort of segregation in the concourse. Moving the Kop to the family stand wouldnt bother me too much but after being in the south stand so long i would prefer if we stayed there now
Logistically unmanageable due to the closeness of the away fans and other factors such as police control.
