Sounds like it's just depression, looks like the media are making this out as something it's not. Lennon's well past his best anyway and hasn't played since Feb, shouldn't even be on the radar.
Cant wait to see who we actually sign first, that first signing needs to be a statement of intent. If it is a good quality signing then it will make further signings easier to achieve IMO. I think Cairney would be a great signing but not a marque signing from the outside world showing we mean business. We might have to bust the bank to get a top drawer player who would attract other better players to come along. I know my thread says, realistic signings, but someone like a Fabregas would be that marque signing to attract more players. I know that its most likely not going to happen but do you understand what I mean.
I think a marquee signing for the club has to be a striker, but who'd you get for reasonable money? Maybe Sturridge or Carroll - but their injury prone? I know we've been linked with a few across the continent but I'd prefer someone who's been there, done it, got the T-shirt.
Not Sturridge or Carroll under any circumstances. One is finished and the other is not capable of playing more than 15 games a season. Its a shame though. You could get a decent England team of crocks: I've taken some licence on the crocks side of things or wouldn't have got a full side. Butland Richards Gibbs Phil Jones Terry Wilshere Delph Lennon Aarons Carroll Sturridge
I'm just struggling for players who may actually sign other than championship players. I hope we hear something from Rafa. We won't hear how much money there is to spend but if he stays that means we know there are promises.
u nah there some decent players around the championship ..that will do a job ..they give 100 % thats what you want to have good team spirit etc ..i would def take a chance on some of them ..
"most likely not going to happen". Holy christ mate I'm going to buy a lottery ticket and also send a tweet to Anne Hathaway asking for a 'quicky'. I know it's most likely not going to happen but you've made me feel like it's possible.
I'm just trying to be positive. Blind faith maybe. Send that message my friend. It could be you...........
Dunno if anyone watched the Ajax game last night? https://www.whoscored.com/Players/115868/Show/Hakim-Ziyech Ziyech really stood out, looks class, his who scored stats for this season are immense, definitely got a big future this kid.
Yeah he was very good. Traore obviously did well. Interesting to see what happens at Chelsea. They have a lot of players out on loan coming back to them. It looks like Costa might go, but if he did it won't be a Traore or Abraham replacing him. By all accounts it is likely to be Morata (although Real Madrid would be mad to let him go again!). Terry will obviously be moving on. You would think either Christensen or Zouma will take that role. I don't see many other departures. If Fabregas does go, again I think it will be a purchase which replaces him. So they are going to have the likes of Ake, Zouma, Christensen, Hector, Kalas, Musonda, Traore, Abraham, Kenedy, Chabolah, Loftus Cheek, Aine, Solanke, Atsu, Rahman, Brown, Nathan, Remy, Van Ginkel plus another 20 odd I probably don't know about. Obviously this situation is completely ridiculous, but it does afford opportunities for loans and purchases. Most of these are highly rated young lads who just need first team football.
I have checked and they have about 37 out on loan this season alone. The league needs to tighten the rules on this kind of bollocks, its absolutely ridiculous cornering of talent.
Another option at left back - Borthwick-Jackson. Test Man U's resolve to hold onto him. Risky given his troubles at Wolves, but the lad looked a cracking full back when he played up here earlier in the season for Wolves. Made Perez look like a complete amateur. I think he'd be worth a risk.
Lewis Baker is doing well on loan at Vitesse from Chelsea. Personally I'd like to see us take a risk if available on the likes of Abraham, Baker, Loftus Cheek, Ake, Borthwick-Jackson, Traore, Hector etc etc. If they are not going to use them and are willing to sell them, I think we should be at the front of the queue if possible. Its risky of course but young players would give us a real energy boost our play is severely lacking.
I'd be in for Deeney from Watford and King from Bournemouth, taking goals off other teams I'd expect us to be around but for that exact reason I doubt they'd be coming in. Carroll and Sturridge are more realistic as they both seem to have lost their starting places at their clubs and, I think, would be available for reasonable money and open to coming. Seen someone mentioned Zouma from Chelsea, saw a report today Chelsea may look to loan him out next year which I'd tear their arm off for. Big, strong, quick, good in the air.
