Well you dont get many more entertaining 0-0 draws than that. What a great match at a rocking britannia stadium. The atmosphere from both sets of fans was incredible and a great opener to the season. In all, I think Chelsea should have won. Stoke should have won it last season and we should have won it this season but such is football.

Anyway all the best to Stoke for the rest of the season and it was good to see Torres at his best!

To Chelsea fans, that performance was great and a lot better than last season in my opinion. I think its looking good for the future with AVB in charge. KTBFFH

Begovic was immense, Woodgate did well considering I was worried he'd fall over and shatter into a million pieces. As usual Lampard dived and Terry made me hate Chelsea even more.

1 point down 39 to go as Pulis would say.

I'm actually back in Stoke for a bit now. I work in LA for 4-6 months a year for MTV then have 6 months off. Seeing mates and stuff then onto OZ.

Agreed mate. Thought it was a good game. I thought we were marginally the better side in the first half but you were much the better team in the 2nd so a draw is probably the right result. I cannot tell you how delighted I was when I saw that Torres was playing and not Drogba. Drogba always causes problems for us and Torres causes few problems mainly due to his poor work rate. I thought both sides defended brilliantly today. Delighted with a point I am :)

Just listening to Villa Boas on the radio and I couldn't disagree with anything he said, he summed up the game well, didn't moan about the referee and gave us some credit. Early days but I like the sound of Villa Boas, he doesn't seem one to overreact and I hope Abramovich (spe.) gives him time as I think given time Chelsea could build a side akin to the Mourinho one again but I am sceptical about how patient Abramovich is willing to be.

Good luck for the rest of the season. Hope you finish above Man City but (sorry) can't see anyone getting near Manure this season.

Excellent result for Stoke, although i thought Chelsea were poor and I too was glad to see Torres over Drogba!

Yeah I also hope AVB stays for a long time and Im sure he will....
People already saying that today was a bad result for us but the brit is a tough place to come to and i dont think many teams will be taking more of a point back from stoke this season.

I was also pleased to see Drogba on the bench over Torres as our strong back four could easily bully Torres where Drogba was a different prospect altogether.

Just about right re the thread report...
I was really pleased with Woodgate, hope he can stay fit and he doesn't seem to panick when he has the ball at his feet <ok>
First half, I though we(Stoke) played really well, 2nd half I took one look at the chelsea bench and it's frightening. But we held on
for a fantastic point. My ONLY complaint was, our midfield as usual, gave the ball away far too easily. IF T.P. brings in anything like
a couple of quality player's we can do well this season. And, once Ether's went off we were left short of options.

Great result, well done both teams both sets of fans and T.P. with what we do have you got it right<ok>

Still don't like the way some Chelsea player's go down when you just blow on them, it's pathetic and WHY they do it I don't know.
Good luck to Chelsea but having seen today's game, Utd must be favorites.

Having watched most of the United game I'd say it was game on. They don't look that much better than Chelsea or Stoke.<ok>
