Hello all, I think todays listed race at Pontefract gives us a very interesting betting heat, in which Rose Blossom is a very interesting proposition. She is the third best horse in the race on weighting but I think she is the one to be with in this heat. She is a very speedy filly who likes to make all from the start, she is drawn to attack in stall 1 and the Pontefract course should suit her front running style. She has had a poor season but her last two efforts have been most interesting, looking like she was returning to somewhere near her best on her penultimate start. She probably went off too fast in both races, and she has been getting pegged back inside the final furlong, however with a rail to run against and also the nature of the Pontefract track I see her as a tough one to peg back here. Interestingly her two main rivals are drawn in 7 and 11 respectively and they will need a fair amount of luck in running to win from such draws, and she doesn't have to improve a lot to take this race. I have also backed her in straight forecasts with Dever Dream and also Folly Bridge, the former is the best horse in the race for me but has a bad draw (and seems to like finishing second) and the latter is very interesting now down in trip and with headgear on for the first time. Good luck if you play today, and lets hope all your roses blossom!!
Had a look at that race Nass. Very tricky. My first thought was for Rimth but then looking at the form with Diver Dream, the latter despite dwelling at start, not much room on inside behind weakening rival and having to be switched sharply left over 2f out, finished in front of Rimth yet finds itself 7lb better off this time. So I think Diver Dream is the one you have to beat. Good luck.
"I think todays listed race at Beverley ........................... " sorry to be picky Nass but the race is at Pontefract, not Beverley ;-) I agree Rose Blossom has an excellent chance though, Hanagan is riding out of his skin at the moment
Well Done Nass... Top Top Call Hi Chippy, Having had time to reflect its got excellent facilities throughout the course and is the most stunning course I have seen in that respect.... I was in the grandstand so cant comment on view from their but Im not sure I like watching the horses above my line of sight from the rail and when in the stands I feel the track is too far away... At £4.60-ish a pint can't really argue with prices as where down south.. but doesn't add up to a cheap day. The racing was competitive but lacked quality and maybe it was the people attracted by Shergar Cup / Concert but there was no real atmosphere there. Think I may well go again for Champions Day where atmosphere may be greater but to some up Ascot is a v nice course for people who dont follow racing, for the one's interested in the sport I think theres many better.
Great Call on that Nass, has been running in some very good races and back in this grade made her class tell, wished i would have followed your pointer.
