Cracking ground, great atmosphere, the only issue you park a long way away from ground and are bused in foc.
Daughters boyfriend is a B&H Albion fan but can't get a ticket so will be coming in with us - a new experience for him!
The Brighton Bristol City game has some interesting conotations. If Newcastle lose on Friday night to Cardiff, Brighton will be champions whatever. If Newcastle draw ,Brighton only need 1 point to be champions. If Newcastle win, if Brighton win they will be champions. If Blackburn don't take a point or Birmingham lose on Saturday afternoon, City will be safe whatever. So by 5.30 Saturday, Brighton and City , could be both celebrating, one could be celebrating or neither will be celebrating yet...... it could be a very interesting match, or there again it might not. Will City provide a guard a honour for Brighton having achieved promotion
Brighton are the only team in the top 7 promotion and play off contenders, City either haven't beaten or been ahead by 2-0 at one stage of the game. Newcastle 0-1 2-2 (City 2-0 ahead) Huddersfield 4-0 1-2 Reading 2-3 (City 2-0 ahead) 1-2 Sheffield Wed 2-2 2-3 (City 2-0 ahead) Fulham 0-2 4-0 Leeds 1-0 1-2 and Brighton 0-2 goals for 21, goals against 21......quite impressive the down side is a record of wins 3 draws 2 and loses 8, .....not so impressive. Overall this season our record against the top third and bottom third is good...... Our record against mid table teams is dreadful.
Funnily enough my youngest is living there too so I've bought us both tickets. Will take the chance to spend the weekend up there. COYR!
Might bump into you then RUR! I park in the streets off Lansdowne road - free parking there and close to where she lives. I'll probably go to the Pier for lunch then be in the King & Queen from 3pm to watch the results come in before making my way to the Amex. Sunday will be lazy - hopefully recovering from celebrating being safe! The Geese is a good pub - with a good sausage menu (no comments about Brighton's diversity please!!) Hopefully we will factor in a few beers there too!
To be honest I normally take my wife to Rome as it's her birthday week, and I find it hundreds more romantic than here. If paying €30 for 2 Latte's is romantic then I've been mistaken all these years not that I'm complaining as I knew it would be expensive but just like comparing Bristol v London you expect London to be the dearer. Rome for me every time I'm afraid. St Marks Basilica is stunning mind you and worth the queues.
Don't worry, remember what LJ said earlier today.. Bristol City FCVerified account@bcfctweets 14h14 hours ago LJ: "We're the bridesmaid and not the bride in this game. Everyone is focused on Brighton, expecting a home win." #BHAvBRC No problem.
