If only our lass said that more often! Seriously, thanks for the message ..... hope you're well and looking forward to next season. One of my favourite seasons was the 3rd division so this is nowt, we're made of steel and can get through anything together.
lol....I have a way with words We are Sunderland....we just move on....onward and upward....oh wait can I say that.....lol!!!
3rd Division? Ugh! Hated it. But next season's fixture list is actually OK. Depending on who goes up we'll have Villa, Wolves, Leeds, Forest, Sheffield Utd, Sheffield Wednesday, Boro, Derby, QPR etc. It's not the Prem, but beats Watford, Hull, Bournemouth, Burnley, Leicester, Newcastle ( )etc.
The owner, manager and players are current but we're permanent mate. It's easy to say 'we're shyte and I don't care' ..... much harder to say SAFC isn't shyte and I do care. I care and I always will because I'm not a quitter.
Ah Sid man, Aldershot away .... what a great day out that was. The whole season was one big laugh, endless great memories
Aldershot? Was there with the old fellah that day. Lovely afternoon in the park, apart from the result. 3-2 wasn't it? Remember Marco getting one of ours...
I've still got the old video from that season. I was just a little to young to remember it, though. Good to see you back.
Brentford away was the first one that season, when Keith Bertschin scored the only goal, for us I went to every game that season and thoroughly enjoyed it . . . . 'new' grounds that we'll never visit again (will we ?) and we'll be doing the same next season, with a little luck
And to you and your's mate .... things are great here, you should come. We had a digger in the lake, last week, driving across the silt on scaffolding plants ..... we ended up having to drag it out, on a steel cable, with the dumper truck You had to be there!
I still cant believe you wouldnt take payment. If you were giving me them in person id have thrown some money at you and ran away after youd given me them lol. I didnt even think id get one ticket let alone 2!
I'm sure some people find it strange mate but, for over 40 years, I've hitched around the country, been picked up by Frankies bus at Trowell Services, cadged lifts after games and been helped out in fights by lads who didn't even know me .... I always do my best to 'put a bit back in' and help people out with tickets, transport, accommodation etc. I've had some great lads down to the south of France and now Surrey. At the end of the day we are the club, and we have to be right with each other, otherwise what's it all about eh?
