Bostonbob, massive congrats on your new arrival ! From now on, NAP takes on a whole different meaning. Best of luck, enjoy every minute.
It's all about Cracksman and Galapiat at Epsom, maybe together with Innocent Touch and Leader's Legacy for a Lucky 15?
Morning, pilgrims. Hope everyone tickety-boo. I would have thought that the inclusion of Altior in Saturday’s £125,000 Celebration Chase goes a long way to ensuring Mr Henderson, the forum’s favourite, wins the Trainers Crown at the weekend. If Altior obliges (and it’s as short as 2/5 that he does) then Mr Nicholls will have to win practically every other race at the meeting to get up on the line and defeat the forum's favourite trainer, its idol and its inspiration! William Hill have shortened Mr Henderson to 1/12 now following the release of Saturday’s runners. The race that was the Whitbread though has fallen like a stone in terms of prestige in recent years and has gone from being one of the highlights of the entire year to not even the most talked about contest on its card!
I'm off to Epsom this afternoon so have dug my woolly hat out ! I think it will be freezing up on the downs. Looking forward to seeing whether CRACKSMAN is the real deal and a possible Derby hope. It would be nice if this Derby trial could start to attract better horses. In the City & Suburban I like the look of BROROCCO and c&d winner GAWDAWPALIN
Today at Epsom it is interesting that we have quite a few races without naturally strong pace. Take the opener, we only have Normal Equilibrium who takes it along. He is a previous winner of this and can go well from the front if they don't hassle him, however the ground might be too lively for him here. I like him and think he is a fair back to lay horse at least.
Congrats *Bob*, hope your better half is recovering well and that your sleep hasn't been too badly disrupted! Just a note on CRACKSMAN, Gosden stated that he's a very laid back individual and badly needs the experience. Of course it's a positive that they've supplemented him for the big one at the latest stage but today is a fact finding mission for him.
Congratulations Bob Looking forward to the GC at Punchestown, fingers crossed one of my fave horses in training, Coneygree gets round and comes out of the race safe. And that he has a full season next year. However, I think that SIZING JOHN is the one to beat, and you won't see many better even money shots!
Considering the weather there is a big crowd here at Epsom Cracksman looked impressive in the paddock but Periman looks good too and I see he is now 2nd fav One of those 2!
I think Polidam is a crazy price. 7/2 for such a competitive heat on his first run in Ireland with his French form looks average at best. Should be 12/1 imo. Happy to have egg on my face if you he wins for you though.
