Right yesterday wasnt the greatest game ever but they was some pluses to take from the game. Bamba had another solid game, Schmeicel will shove a rocket up peoples arse if they need it, Fernandes had another good game and Schlupp got a chance. He didnt do a great deal but when he got on the ball he showed his intention to run with the ball, something only Dyer does. People going on Mills is a waste of money etc. Its very unfair to judge him yesterday when we was playing Reading with all their fans on his back, wait until Wednesday and then judge him. The reason why we was so bad in the first half was he kept giving the ball away too cheaper with Yuki Abe the main culprit. Pantsil looked decent at right back without setting the world on fire but from the early signs I think Peltier should be the first choice. The midfield second half was alot better without any real movement up front. Apart from Nugent all our strikers was crap. Waghorn everytime he shoots it goes over the bar. I think the best thing we can do with him now is to loan him out and see how he does and if he is worth keeping. Howard looks like leaving on loan and Schlupp will go out on loan as well according to Sven. I think had we had a quality striker yesterday we would of won the game comfortably as there wasnt much movement in and around the box except from Nugent but he was man marked most of the time. Danns shouldnt be on the wing West Ham, Forest, Burnley, Leeds, Hull and us are all fancied teams and have all lost matches so dont too down about losing 1 match. There is along way to go and Sven knows what he is doing The team for Wednesday should be Schmeichel Pantsil (Peltier if fit) Mills Bamba Konchesky Wellens Danns Fernandes Gallagher Nugent Dyer We need to get in at least 2 strikers asap and the rumours going round is Nicky Maynard has handed in a transfer request. If we do sign him it wont be until the end of the week as Bristol are hardly going to sell to us for him to play against them. Robbie Keane looks like going to LA Galaxy so Sven will be forced now to either pay Bristol what they want, pay the Yak what he wants or go abroad
I think howard should lead the attack as the focal point,(for the lack of anything better)..have nugent play off him, as a front two rather than wide...dyer on the right, gally on the left.. danns has got to be dropped, off the pace yesterday, passing very poor..but you could of dropped 9..of that lot... kasper pants mills sol konch dyer fernandes wellens gally nugent howard
We all knew that reading was going to be a tough game and we still have florist away (granted i hope they carry on with the current form under steve McClown) if we can take at a minimum of 7 from these first 4 games ill be happy. If we get 9 even better. Id choose Schmichael Pielter (if fit, if not Pantsil) Bamba Mills Konchesky King Fernandes Dyer Nugent Waghorn (off for schlupp at aboot 65/70 mins if waggy hasent produced)
Do you really think Waghorn deserves a start after yesterday? Howard is leaving so he wont play, he might not even be here when we play them
Schmeichel Pantsil - Mills - Bamba - Koncheskey Fernandes--- Wellens Danns -------------Gallagher Nugent--- Schlupp
Just wana make a few points. N guesson was one of my fav players but he was too quiet for us. Secondly, its fine we lost because we dont have a striker yet. Ironically i mentioned we should be aiming for 2 goals a game. Thirdly, nugent. He should have buried that but had too much time on the ball, he is flawed imo.. FINAL AND MOST IMPORTANTLY we are lcfc, richest club in england. Dont worry about a thing, Cos every lil thing is gona be alright =)
wellens needs to learn when to shut the fook up, he isnt captain and i think he was expecting to be. hes turning into a right gobby s**t!
Tbf i have a soft spot for waggy but he is not playing enough.... My personal opinion! As we are the richest club, surely we can bring in a striker either buying or on loan..... Loaning migbt give us the option of prem players willing to drop a division
Waghorn shouldn't even make the bench - he had a full 90 minutes against Rotherham from L2 and was woeful. He had 30 minutes yesterday and did nothing apart from 3 or 4 horrendous set pieces.
He's always been a gooby **** Seriously though, Kasper gets praise for shouting at people and Wellens gets slated? The more people being vocal on the pitch the better, as long as it's constructive and not flat out arguments. I know people disagree but you need vocal leaders on the pitch, even more so when the man in the dugout isn't saying a thing.
Proud's right in that we need to calm down. Yes it was a bad performance but this could be a wake-up call for us. Maybe the players started to believe all the hype that they would walk the league? It was very strange. The passing wasn't crisp or fluid and there was no movement off the ball creating space and angles to move the opposition out of position to create the chances. That's basic footballing practice and we weren't doing it. Mills' looked nervous especially (possibly due to the fact he was facing his former team). When he was defending he stood of too deep and allowed the strikers too much time to turn. On the ball his distribution was poor and it's something I noticed during the Madrid game as well. I think he should be the no-nonsense centre-back who tackles, clears if he is under pressure and if we're looking to build from the back, he should just play it simple to Bamba and let him play into midfield and start the attacks because Mills is too sloppy in possession. Also Danns didn't really know where he was supposed to be playing. He was either too wide or was playing to deep and central which crowded the midfield. We wanted him playing inside the full-back and trying to support Nugent and he didn't do that. Schlupp was the same. We did looked better in the 2nd half and I thought their goal came against the run of play. One thing's for sure, is that if there's any spirit or fight in this team, they'll come out with a point to prove on Wednesday. I'm not worried or concerned yet, but I hope this acts as a wake-up call to everyone. The players, the manager, the fans. Everyone. This shows us The Championship; no matter how good a team looks on paper, if they're not 100%, they'll lose. All teams loose matches, but the good teams respond and the bad teams slump.
