He probably does the opposite to what we want or what we least expect. Its good to keep the fans on their toes.
i think with martin he is lacking experience, i mean its a lot for a guy like him to play with fonte against a championship team away from home like today. but he did do well against leeds at home, i just feel he lacks a little bit of experience. if he had jaidi's experience he'd be the complete package. for now stay with seaborne, wasn't totally impressed with him during pre-season and last season but sounded like he played really well today. and heard he didnt do that well tuesday night, so glad he turned things around. i'd stick with the same team for tuesday night but possibly put fox in for harding and maybe de ridder for guly
Before a ball had been kicked in the Championship Seaborne & Hammond were getting unfairly judged on these pages. Only 2 games in i know, But we are top of the tree and playing excellent football. Hammond has upped is game and notched a goal already and Seaborne helped keep our first clean sheet away in this league. Maybe those who bitched all pre season "may" have been a little premature. Yes we need a new CB but that will be to play alongside seaborne at times not instead of. Well done boys.
I would have normally said Martin but Seaborne had a really good game yesterday up at Barnsley, he didn't miss a header, tackled like a demon and his distribution was very good - someone must have faith in him because Fonte and Davies used him all the time to distribute out of defence Don't change a winning team!
Seaborne all day long. Proved today why Adkins gave him the shirt. Well done the lad. Great in the air, his distribution was spot on. Man of the match performance for me. Fonte looked a lot more assured with Seaborne alongside him today. Great partnership will only get better the more they play together
Seaborne on yesterday performance & pre season & comparing it to Martins performance at Leeds. Seaborne ahead. Fonte Looked more comfortable with Seaborne

If a center back does eventually sign then Martin will be loaned out as he would have been if Jemel had actually come on board instead of messing Cortese about.
Probably because you cannot spell his name correctly, and there is only one f in defender, Seaborne for me because he is the better player on the left side of the defence, Aaron is right footed and was caught dithering in the Leeds game because he couldn't deliver with his left foot.
All the comments seem to be Martin vs Seaborne. Has everyone suddenly forgotten Jaidi? He's got an injury at the moment which is why he's not in the squad, but was imperious last season and played 35+ games in which I don't remember him making any mistakes. Everyone's issue with him seems to be his age, but you don't just suddenly become too old or past it over 3 months of summer. Obviously looking towards the future NA is doing the right thing in gradually nurturing Martin and to a lesser extent Seaborne into feeling comfortable playing at this level (especially before new CB presumably arrives), but if we were to have a fully fit squad for a big game I would certainly opt for a fit Jaidi, given that he was so integral last season. On the subject of Martin the last thing I want to do is knock him, but all I will say is he's only made about 7 starts for us, having never played anywhere near this level before. He could well be as good as everyone seems to be convinced he is (someone mentioned him as a future England CB!) but the truth is I don't think anyone can truly know at this stage on the basis of such a lack of game time. He looked comfortable enough vs Leeds (excpet for pen (not his fault), and being dispossessed in 1st half), and I HOPE he does cement a place long term. When he's fit it's Jaidi for me.
Voted for Martin. I really hope he develops into a top quality player especially being a Southampton lad as well. The interview he did after the Leeds game as well. He came across as a really top lad as well.
Just watched the full 90 minutes of the Barnsley game - twice - on Barnsley Player. Seabourne was immense. He's never been a favourite of mine, but he looked strong, confident, unbeatable and very, very capable. So on current form I'd have to say Dan S.
