Mourinho really is an expert at nullifying a threat. It's ugly football but it's effective and has delivered him plenty. It's hardly the swashbuckling attacking football that the Utd faithful demanded of LvG but I'm sure they will be happy at the performance and the result. Spurs will do them. City too.

One thing about Mourinho he knows how to do a job on a top team. He has done it before in his previous jobs, nullying so called superior opponents. He parks the double bus but then if it gives 3 points when none was expected, he won't care nor their fans.

We still have a job to do.

 

They got 'lucky' in that they scored early (contentious goal) to allow them to sit back and soak up the pressure and had no incentive to attack really and Chelsea had to push onto them which isn't how they've played against the top teams.

 

Tactically, Utd were much better.

Not sure how much Costa is trying tbh.....but he was easily taken out of the game, as was hazard.

 

No luck whatsoever imo, it wasn't contentious at all. Costa should have had a red for that elbow on Rojo in the first half.

Mourinho did a job on them tactically and his players were the better side by far. Only Kante played to his level for Chelsea imo. Keeps it honest at the top that result, despite it being a ****e result for us.
