Davies destroyed him today and he was Sooo poor. Such a desperate signing. Except for a few blocks he was awful.

To make it worse he ended the game with the own goal, wtf was he doing!

When we watched him through Northy's link playing out in Italy, everyone commented that he was a liability. Yet he was still on trial then. Why the f*ck was he signed?!

Bracknell- I agree that he was ok at some points but he was destroyed by davies and he looked shaky and nervous. He also looked **it with the ball at his feet

I've been critical on other posts about today's overall performance but, dare I say it, Gabbidon was better than I expected, at least until his unfortunate own goal. He won some good headers early on, I remember a good block.... says he desperately trying to justify an unpopular opinion....

Did you lot go to the game it doesn't sound it from what ur writing. He was actually one of the best players on the pitch for us so stop slatting him and give him a chance.

I saw him in Italy and again today and have to say that he was one of the better players today but he is still rubbish and if only the goons had given the manager a decent amount to spend we could have signed someone who is not going to be a liability. He scored an own goal today and gave the ball away in Italy, luckily for him the Portugese player didnt score from his error. Not good enough.

    Bracknell rodney and 360

Maybe I'm being bitter and false, but that is what I thought. To be fair to him playing against Davies didn't help, dirty bugger. I do accept he can tackle and head the ball well but he looked awkward and nervous

personally to mee he looked like one of the most composed of our players and saved us from conseeding more goals. every defender scores own goals its a fact of playing and was just unlucky. to criticize him like you lot are just isnt fair

chaps I only saw 65 mins of the game via streaming on my Pc, from what i saw he looked ok at the back, a bit slow but maybe that was just me wanting our defence to play like Man U. Ok we are all disappointed with the result but lets give the team a chance..it is a big step up from last season....and with no decent sigining we are just gonna have get behind the team...its the owners who need to be slated ! Just my opinion.

I thought Hall and Gabbidon looked reasonable in the first half, but I don't think either are Premiership centre backs. Bolton are a mid table Prem side and their defence was extremely fast and effective - we haven't got that quality of players at the back and that's why we'll struggle without new, quality blood...

I was there too and had Gabbidon down, together with Derry and later Buz, as one of our better players today.

Why did we sign him? 'Cos there was no money for anyone better.

I really can't believe what I'm hearing about Gabbidon. I was there today and he was easily our best defender. Also, far from looking slow, he actually looked reasonably quick! Not lightening, but again, easily the quickest we have. Good on the ball and reasonably composed, along with some excellent blocks. I do wonder what some of you were watching? I'll reserve my opinions on the rest for another thread.

Defended OK, but gave the ball too often for my liking, as he did in Italy. OG was unfortunate, could have happened to anyone. As for the quality of defenders, as long as our current owners are in place, that's as good as it's going to get. So get used to it folks!

No, they were let down by those behind them not closing down or anticipating, they can't stop everything on their own. Davies conned Faurlin for the free kick that led to the own goal and the Bolton players had better pace and movement. That's the big difference at this level.

Faurlin had a poor game by his high standards -confidence knocked in the second half, and he wasn't the only one...

Nope. Although Faurlin gave the ball away a little carelessly at times. Orr is the one who was completely butchered by Petrov. He skinned him again and again and again. I like Orr, but if anyone is not up to this level it's him I'm afraid (and now Dyer's out!!).:(
