burton went 2 up at torquay , finally succoming to a 2-2 draw. on tuesday burton held burnley away until they lost aet/penalties. shrews who allowed argyle a point last saturday completely took apart high flying derby county, who at present are in a promo place to the premiership. shrews were 3 up away at derby by half time and reports indicate that derby county's recovery to 3-2 could well have been matched by 3 more shrews. the whole team performed well, ainsworth made all the goals and marvin and jamie c were on song. saturdays game indicates if town play as well as they did on tuesday then the brewers will be counting hops and treading yeast
it is worth relating burtons pre season friendlies history.d a telford 1-1, w h derby 2-1, w a solihull 1-0, w a rocester 5-2 and l h derby 3-1. i am not sure if this info adds to a likely away win to the shrews whose p/season wins against man utd and wolves is worth repetition!
It will be good to see burton beat you lot 3-1 on saturday. Ill be looking at the results with interest, on the walk back after a fantastic gas win
if the police were unwise enough to open the memorial ground at the end of september i can see the gas grubbing one point at home to hereford, otherwise i cannot see where you next points are coming from. if i was you i would stick a tenner in plods box for the police balls sorry ball
looking on the bright side town are unbeaten, are burton better than derby or did we play derby reserves
whatshrew, i spy another jekyl and hyde season unless fingers are not pulled out soon. get fit soon young tom
early days yet both teams looked leggy, weve got to give it a few weeks to settle the season down abit, away draw, ill take that!
oh and where has the ever-self-assured-that-the-gas will-win-the-league chris the gashead disappeared to after rovers were torn apart at home yesterday ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
yes the gas are going to walk the league this season, not, let me know when they break into a trot. northampton may deflate the gas
We were definately brought back down to earth with a bump at Burton . Started well and could have been 1 up in two minutes. Up until their goal it could have gone either way with both teams playing ok. The second half we were very poor all over the field until Taylor and Gornell came on. Town then stepped up the pace, great cross from Shane (best thing he had done all afternoon!) for a great header by Gornell. Could and should have pinched all 3 points a couple of minutes later when Marvin headed against the post from close range. But a point was a good result considering I had 10 minutes earlier, expected to lose all three. Not sure whats happening with Sharpy, not quite up to full fitness, so with Joe Jacobson available for Oxford on Tuesday, will changes be made? will Sharpy be left out to get to full fitness or will Shane be left out after a poor display at Burton? On Hazell's performances it would be very dissapointing if he is dropped and Regan although hasn't been outstanding, has done a good job and looks promising. Will we see the same front two or will Gornell get the nod over Collins? I know one thing I wouldn't like to in Graham Turners shoes .I'm looking forward to my trip to Oxford and hopefully a better performance.
i cannot understand the difference in our performances against derby and burton, still tis early in the season, but we could do with a couple of wins.
does anyone know if derby had their full side out, if they did either town were super brilliant at derby and piss poor at burton. come on uncle graham, sort your babes out soon please, else uncle rowland will choke on his hip flask. come on you shrews, floreat salopia
