Well, Canos has scored a few goals (his side still lost today) but would you really play him rather than Jacob? I wouldn't.
Well, no worries about coming on so soon after the game. At least if you get totally outplayed you can't have sour grapes. As I said in my Reading fan chat piece, we have had lots of reality checks this season - losses include Newcastle 1-4, Fulham 0-5, Brentford 1-4, Preston 0-3 and Brighton 0-3. But this takes the biscuit!! I also said in the other thread I think we've been overchieving, and this rout might give space to some soul searching. To be with a NEGATIVE GD in play-offs looks very ominous. Perhaps we're only 'up there' because Jaap Stam's style is 'European' and it's taken most teams time to adapt to our supposed possession game. For yourselves I could imagine that this might do wonders for your condfidence as you begin to mount a serious promotion challenge for next season. I believe Derby, Villa and yourselves have almost surely got better players than the league position might indicate. Enjoy the point tonight (at the cost of honest fans like me!) and we'll live to chat another day!!
Good of you to come on here DaiBo. In spite of those heavy set-backs, you've still been far more consistent over the season as a whole and that's what counts in the end. Best of luck in the play-offs.
I think a bronze statue of Alan Irvine outside the river end is the least we can do. The totally mental thing is, how can they be on fire today yet look so disinterested, awol and clueless against Huddersfield just 3 days ago? And the Terriers lost to 19th placed Florist today!
IMO, we played well enough for the first 60 odd minutes, but then fell apart after they scored, much like Reading did today. It's a funny old game (well at least when you win 7-1! ).
