you just honestly couldn't make it up could you? it literally is fairytale stuff.. windass joins us when we only just stay up in the championship and the rest is ****ing history.. i was literally in tears in the last few minutes..as bristol attacked and attacked .. i didn't know why.. i just shed into utter tears.. no other football game in my life will have the same emotions
You never get tired of seeing that do ya? Plus Deano running the length of the pitch at the final whistle. Amazing day. Like you tears, my body felt like it had played the game, exhausted. Never be topped.
It is a ridiculous story , if somebody said in 1998 in 10 years deano will return and volley you into the premier league , you would walk away from them while trying not to make eye contact
Yet despite Dean taking us to Valhalla,he still gets slaughtered by the multi persona self-righteous. You know who you are.. 'Array OUT
I'll always remember a comment from a Bristol fan before the game! "there's gonna be a lot of people in orange crying tonight " how I wanted to see him after the game!
Arguably the best goal ever seen at Wembley. The assist by Campbell was perfect and the Windass goal was textbook perfection.
Just watched that again and showed one of my 9 year old daughters and tried to explain the relevance and nearly started crying
Have to rewatch it to appreciate what a great strike it was. The 2nd half was torture at times but I don't think anything has ever quite topped that final whistle going and seeing Deano running towards the fans.
That's what I argue when people say they would rather finish 17th than win the FA cup .. You can't buy those feelings
I was in the Canary isles. Watched in a pub. After decades of following City we where at Wembley getting promoted to the top division for the first time ever. I should of been there. It was one of the best and worst days of my life ...
Watched it at home with my wife after making a decision not to go believing if I went I would bring them bad luck. This was based on my experience of attending all matches Hull teams played in finals at Wembley since 1959. Barring 1980 when one Hull team had to win(not mine) I had seen defeats (plus a draw ) on 6 occasions. Have very few regrets in life but this was one of them. Should have been there for my dad and granddad. My bad run continued when I went to our only FA cup final!
