From a massive Davis critic: Steve was brilliant last night. Play like that every week, and you won't hear me complaining any more. I actually felt guilty not giving him my MOTM - but I simply couldn't give it to anyone other than Tadic, who possibly had his best game in a Saints shirt. Davis took a well deserved runner-up prize.
Good to see hear Tadic played so well, hopefully now the weather is brightening him he will start hitting some form again
Also, there is a world of difference between crosses lofted hopefully into the box, which imo any decent CB pairing ought to be dealing with around 95% of the time, and passes played along the ground from wide positions, which is what led to our 2nd and 3rd goals last night.
Exactly this. Unless you have a Pellè/Rickie/Ron Davies type of centre forward in the box awaiting high crosses, get to the byline and cut it back along the ground. With the footballers we have, someone will get on the end of it.

The reason Tadic had such a good game is because he had the space, Palace play with 4-2-0-4 so there was plenty of space between the attacking 4 and the defensive two. There were no real box to box midfielders as you don't need them in Sam's tactics as you use the defensive sox to defend and then bang it up to the front This gave our three attacking midfielders absolute cart blanche to play some lovely football.....wont be as pretty this weekend!
Not sure if you have been on the Echo Saints site recently, it is best not to do so, there is a one person WUM crusade that has completely wrecked it, despite complaints to the Echo, they have done nothing about it. I have made my last post on there, OSPREYSAINT is no more, when you stop enjoying something, it is wise to stop doing it.
I gave it up completely a while ago. I don't even read the articles these days. Last one I read was probably after the EFL final. Before that, possibly last year. When there are no shades of grey, forums become too dull for me. Vin
I saw you were getting stick, the other day. TBH, I seldom post on there, anymore, mainly because of the small, but very tedious, group who continually suck up to each other, whilst not being able to let go of the "what might have been had Cortese not departed". A pathetic bunch of bullies who hunt in a pack, when people have different opinions to them. You're better off out of it.
I rarely post now on the Echo now....I save myself for you lucky people . And I never check back so I avoid knowing what anyone has replied. Win, win.
