Thank you. Reminded me to ask Mrs Onionman to add that to the grocery order for tomorrow morning. Breakfast will be extra bountiful, thanks to you. Vin
Sorry, what? you seem to be arguing against yourself there. you start off by stating the literal meaning is before writing a paragraph about why they shouldnt believe the literal meaning. all a reply to my post which was stating they havent following the literal meaning at all and have instead taken their interpretation of the meaning behind the original command and applied it to modern practices. to quote yourself. "Of course the bible doesn't mention transfusions: it's the work of illiterate bronze-age sheepherders." I think they've taken that into account... I agree with you that it started in 1945.
not much difference these days. Farage is practically a cult leader and im sure people say the same about the EU. We live in a world of unproven bullshit that people are taking on faith one way or another.
Well one has been practiced for thousands of years and claims to be teachings from a superior being whereas the other is spouted by an idiot who likes propping up bars. I don't think anyone will be talking about most of our politicians in 2000 years time.....unless Trump starts WWIII.
If i recall my school history classes correctly, the UK's current official religion started a few hundred years ago when Henry the 8th got pissed of when the head of EU religion(the pope) intervened with him wanting a divorce so he wanted to transfer these powers to England and created his own independent church, free from EU interference.
Indeed I do argue against myself - I'm trying to point out the self-contradictions inherent in trying to apply any logic at all to the subject. My mistake: I should have been clearer. Vin
Sorry, Whiteley, you missed an open goal there: "There's a difference between God and Farage. One claims to be a superior being who knows all and can move people to do strange things. The other one's God" Vin
Sounds like you were at least half awake in history lessons I take it you slept right through R.E.? Don't really blame you if you did.
Don't think I've been on this thread before but had a a chuckle at quite a few comments today including this. Keep it up guys; maybe rename as "have I got news for you" !!
Yep, It's been a depressing 12 months politically, and it has been reflected in this thread over past few weeks. So it is good to read humour that isn't to dark. I was in the Concorde Club recently and picked up the future bookings leaflet. Great to see the Manfreds, with most of the originals playing, but flabbergasted to see 'an evening with N. Farage', also listed..
I'd like to see news of that being cancelled due to lack of ticket sales. When I once said he was a sideshow I didn't mean this.
An edition for USA audiences there I see. I preferred Mao Tse-tung's answer " Seeng Wittel Birdie" to the original question of Teddy Johnson and Pearl Carr winning the Eurovision Song Contest in 1960 with which song. It's so quaint that he gets it right. Also, since then Coventry City HAVE won the FA Cup, or the English Football Cup, if you're American.
So you can't take your child out of school, for a holiday, without risking getting fined. Now 1 in 6 state schools have written to parents asking for monthly contributions, to subsidise the "free" state education the children are entitled to. Can't have the hoi polloi becoming too well educated, I guess, hence the funding cuts. http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/politics/cash-strapped-schools-beg-parents-10192677
Tories know they can make this sort of thing happen while Labour is unelectable. Your link stalls, by the way. https://www.theguardian.com/educati...e-to-parents-over-school-funding-and-job-cuts
