class from Fehily in the first on a horse who isnt exactly straightforward, got him into a lovely rhythm and took it up at the right time, runner up a non stayer, think Twiston Davies horses might be in better form than they were at Cheltenham and as much as I like Buveur Dair, The New One deserves his day in the sun today

Conti looks a good bet at 10/1 in the Bowl, this is his swansong

Glen Valley in the novice stakes at Southwell. Early foal, bred to be decent early and should stay well. That might be the key today.

Defi Du Seuil 8/1 for the 2018 Champion Hurdle. Any takers? Not for me.

What a fantastic effort by Cue Card. Would have got back up with a few more yards.

    Well done Lizzie!
She deserved that after what happened at Cheltenham.

astounded you didnt collect on Flying Tiger e/w bob, looked like the e/w bet of all time at the prices this morning for those inclined to bet e/w

extra sickening that the same stable just win the big race of the day

Good isn't it? The fact they get racing really early is causing them to come home slowly. Flying Angel finished well in the novice and that last race they went far too early.

Very well done to Lizzie Kelly on winning her second Grade 1 on Tea For Two! Cue Card has been a grand servant to connections, but maybe now's the time to retire him.

Didn't sound like they have any intention of retiring him L_M. Putting him away for the season and will aim him at Haydock next season.

usually the first day of aintree is a guaranteed 10 pager on here, looks like the jumps has not delivered this season, Mullins drugs and Cue Cards head carriage there epitomising the general widespread disgust with jump racing at the minute, only The New One can possibly pull it out the fire and bring back the feel good factor

a couple of nice horses running at Chelmsford tonight, quite surprised actually at the quality turning up at this track

    Mustarrid and Fibonacci

Fibonacci ran absolutely clueless in one of the hotter Newmarket maidens last season, his dam is a half sister to Champion 2yo Fasliyev and the mare Butterfly Cove who produced Misty For Me, Twirl and Ballydoyle, gave the impression that he would be a different horse this year and id be astounded if he didnt turn out better than the Godolphin favourite
