Send that to the police. Attempted robbery by Keith Stroud. What a git. Even Burton looked like "uhhhhh....wut?"
I don't agree with it, but I suspect he did disallow it for feinting. He sort of stopped and started right at the start of his run up for a split second. You see players doing that with every penalty though. You'd have to be looking for an excuse to disallow it to call him on that.
Looking at wiki again, his full name is actually: Keith Trevornufc Penfold's Adviser Mitrovic's Choreographer Sebb's Campain Manager Twatface Stroud ...
Can't be that either. You are allowed to stutter your run but what you CANNOT do is stop at the ball, which Ritchie didn't do. Law 14: Penalty Kick A team-mate of the player taking the kick infringes the Laws of the Game: • The referee allows the kick to proceed. • If the ball enters the goal, the kick is retaken. • If the ball does not enter the goal, the referee stops play and restarts the match with an indirect free kick, from the place where the infringement occurred, to the defending team. So basically he ****ed up, assuming he gave it for encroachment. The penalty should have been retaken as I'll be ****ed if I can spot any other infringement there.
What? A penalty chalked off? WHAT? they used to repeat them in some cases but disallowed? WHAT=? What on earth? In the 2nd highest league in the country? He doesn't the know the rules? In such an important game? 80 million pounds riding on this.

Looking at that video the ref has disallowed a penalty and given a free kick for encroachment. Which is an utterly staggering decision. There was no contact between Gayle and the opposing player, although Gayle did enter the box early. The defender was pointing at him and the ref has decided to give a free kick for it. It can only have been that because the resulting free kick was taken from about 7-8 yards to the left of the penalty spot which is where Gayle was. The only other explanation is the defender said he was fouled by Gayle (in the box before it was taken) and while having not actually seen it (because it didn't happen) has chosen to believe the defender's story and give a foul. There is no excuse that could be given that wouldn't mean the ref hasn't ****ed up. He should be struck off.
If it was taken from there then the ref has just made a total **** of himself. Shown the whole world he doesn't know the rules.
