As far as I can see it can only be a positive thing, though as said already time will tell whether it will turn out to be a total waste of time.
I guess it depends on the dialogue you will accept. This invitation is controlling and completely within the largesse of the club. They have put it out there when also pushing on with their divisive membership, closing upper West and continuing to misuse the name and heritage of the club. Why does it take a committee to speak with supporters? It's all show and we've been here before, in almost identical circumstances. I personally do not believe they have earned any element of collaboration and accepting their invitation is simply retreading old ground and a mistake. Mooney's replacement seems to be involved in a great deal and all I can see is an Allam puppet, just as Mooney was. It's a free choice, let's see what happens.
I disagree, John. A potential for negative is giving them a false image of reasoned communication and supporter care. Supporters attended a previous committee and were strung along and their goodwill abused. That committee was low profile and not a key media point. This new initiative is pretty much the same, but being launched in the media, which in itself is a negative. They appear to be a club who listens, which is total bollocks, and the wider public will be duped. The timing is all revealing, in my opinion.
The FA/PL/FL all signed up to a new agreement that obliges senior management at every club to speak to the club's fans. At least this is one rule they seem to be taking notice of, rather than passing it to Rollits to find a loophole in. I can't speak for anyone else, but personally, I enjoy going to these meetings and ranting at them about how **** they are, I always feel better afterwards.
So they are fulfilling an obligation to 'consult' with fans then ? I'm amazed you would go anywhere near it after the membership scheme consultation debacle OLM
I think this is it. For one they don't wanna see you lot again and two, they will have to fulfill some quotas around age and gender.
I know what you mean but the chance can't be turned down, I wouldn't trust the ****s as far as I could throw them but the trust has been asking for a meeting and the FA / PL say it must happen so go there aware of the tricks and games they play. They have already played a hand by announcing it in the local media (look how good we are talking to the supporters) so challenge them to do something, nothing big like reinstate concessions or drop the Hull Tigers thing but something small and simple so when they don't do it you can trash them in the media. Still no mirrors in the toilets.
Notably the membership scheme isn't on the list of things to be discussed (or from memory anything that could drift into it either) However I still think it needs reps from the various groups to attend because otherwise it will be used to critisise groups for not attending
